A member of the CAA's 25th Anniversary Team in both Track and Field and Cross Country, Moran ended his storied Tribe career as a four-time All-American (two in XC, two in the outdoor 5,000m).  Moran earned the CAA's Athlete of the Year in Cross Country in both 2002 and 2003 (both years he won the league's individual championship), while he claimed the CAA Track Athlete of the Year Honor in 2003.  Additionally, he ran to all-region honors in cross country three times.  He claimed the league's 5,000m crown at the 2003 Outdoor Championships, then went onto earn the same honor at the IC4A meet the same season.

Moran continued competing after graduation and ran to the 5,000m championship  at the 2007 Pan-American Games in a meet record clocking.  He went on to represent the USA in eight official international events (2007 Pan-American Games, three Chiba Ekiden Relays, three World Cross Country Teams and the 2011 Great Edinburgh Cross Country Challenge).  Moran finished just out of the running for a spot on the 2008 Olympic squad, as he ran to a fourth-place finish in that year's Olympic Trials.  He did go onto claim the 2010 USAT&F Road 10K National Championship and finished as the runner-up at the 2010 USAT&F Track and Field 10,000m Championship.
