Allison Evans Kwolek was one of W&M's greatest lacrosse players of the new millenium, helping lead the team to a spot in the 2001 NCAA Tournament. Before her career was over in 2003, she would become a two-time all-conference honoree, setting then-single season records for draw controls and caused turnovers as well as the career record for caused turnovers. In the single-season lists, she still ranks 10th in draw controls and 11th in both caused turnovers and shots, as well as 16th in assists and shots and 20th in points scored. For her career, Kwolek's 50 caused turnovers still ranks 11th all-time, while she is also 10th all-time with 89 draw controls and ninth with 235 shots taken.

After graduating from W&M, Kwolek was named to the U.S. National Elite Squad in 2006, while also beginning a very successful coaching career. That included assistant coaching stops at Dartmouth and Columbia, as well as at W&M where she helped the Tribe capture the CAA regular-season title in 2009 and set single-season records for goals and points. In the summer of 2016, she was an assistant coach with the Boston Storm during the inaugural season of the
United Women's Lacrosse League, helping develop eight all-star selections and leading the team to the league championship game.

Kwolek's coaching path led her in 2012 to become the head coach at Richmond, and in her seven-plus seasons there has led the Spiders to unprecedented heights. Richmond has made the Atlantic 10 Conference championship game each of the last six years, breaking through with conference titles and accompanying NCAA Tournament berths in both 2018 and 2019. Kwolek has amassed a career record of 84-50 (.627), setting program-records for wins in a year each of the last two seasons, and in 2018 was named the Atlantic 10 co-Coach of the Year.
