By most any measure, the short list of contenders for best male swimmer in school history has to include Chris Robinson. A member of the Tribe swim teams from 1996-00, Robinson is still the all-time leader in victories with 100, 20 ahead of the next best, and the all-time leader in points scored with 1,469.5. He swam the middle-distance and distance freestyle events, where he earned 14 All-CAA honors and the conference title in the 400 free relay in 1999. That 1999 season, he led W&M to a 15-1 regular season record and a second-place finish at the CAA Championships, the best in school history at the time. Robinson won 34 races in 1996-97 and 33 in 1998-99, still the top-two all-time at W&M. Robinson's performances have also stood the test of time, with his last major record not falling until the fall of 2016 and none being topped until 2010.
