FAIRFAX, Va. – With the squad pulling a split-schedule, two-event Saturday, members of the William & Mary women's track & field team posted a solid showing at Dalton Ebanks Invitational. Competing at George Mason, the Tribe notched several top finishes in another competitive meet.
Pole Vault
Sophie Fernandez soared to a third-place finish at 3.53m.
Elizabeth Upright was 10
th at 3.38m and
Fiona Basewitz was 12
th at 3.23m.
Shot Put
Ella Carlson finished ninth at 12.25m.
Discus
Carlson finished top-10 against a field of 20-plus with a throw of 39.77m.
100m
In a field of 30-plus,
Charlotte Robinson notched a top-20 finish, running a 12.65.
200m
Charlotte Robinson ran a 26.03 to take 20
th place, while
Clare Howard also finished top-35 against a field of nearly 50 athletes.
400m Hurdles
Makenzie Joiner and
Clare Howard finished 6-7 with times of 1:03.73 and 1:03.93, respectively.
800m
Makenzie Joiner led a strong Green and Gold group, running a 2:16.62 to take 16
th place.
Molly Coyle wasn't far behind in 18
th (2:17.10),
Anna Cestari was 26
th (2:20.27), while
Megan Dougherty and
Lydia Wallis went 31
st and 32
nd.
