Tribe Adds More All-Time Marks at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — William & Mary track & field turned in a strong three-day showing at the Penn Relays, highlighted by a freshman record, multiple top finishes and new additions to the program's all-time top-10 lists at historic Franklin Field.

Amelia Bawcombe headlined the weekend for the Tribe in the women's hammer throw championship, placing fifth with a mark of 59.38m (194-10). The freshman broke her own school freshman record for the third time this season and moved to No. 2 all-time among performers in program history with the effort.

Kennedy Reynolds added to the Tribe's strong showing on Thursday in the women's 400m hurdles championship, placing second in her heat with a time of 1:00.73. The mark ranks as the fifth-fastest performance in program history and stands as her third-best career time.

Hayes Trapp turned in a standout performance in the men's 10,000m championship, placing third with a time of 29:21.52.

On Friday, William & Mary recorded a top-10 finish in the men's distance medley relay, placing eighth with a time of 9:52.26. The quartet of Henry Anderson, Jeffrey Linton, Nolan Yeagle and Brendan DiStefano combined for the effort against a competitive field.

In the field events, Uriah Harris placed sixth in the men's shot put with a mark of 17.11m (56-1¾), while Raiden Lafortune turned in a fourth-place finish in the men's javelin at 61.91m (203-1). Katriel Amoyaw tied for sixth in the women's high jump, clearing 1.65m (5-5), and Raina Fitzwater recorded a top-five finish in the women's pole vault with a clearance of 3.75m (12-3½).

William & Mary closed out the weekend with another strong relay performance on Saturday, placing 10th in the men's 4x800 championship of America in 7:28.53. The quartet of Caleb Wilcox, Matthew Twyman, Amberson Bauer and Jonathan Kumer combined for the No. 7 performance in program history.

Uriah Harris added another sixth-place finish in the men's discus championship with a throw of 53.52m (175-7), while Kalli Knott capped the weekend with a strong showing in the women's pole vault championship, tying for fourth with a clearance of 4.05m (13-3½). The mark ranks as the third-best performance in program history.
