WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — William & Mary track & field's distance squad produced a series of strong performances at the Wake Forest Invitational, highlighted by a heat win and multiple top finishes in the men's 1500m at Kentner Stadium.
On Friday, the Tribe saw success in the 1500m, where sophomore Henry Anderson captured a heat victory, crossing the line in 3:51.43. In another section, freshman Nolan Yeagle added to the strong showing with a runner-up finish in his heat, clocking a time of 3:48.79.
On the women's side, Kelly Ann Sutterfield led the Tribe in the 1500m, finishing fourth in her heat with a time of 4:31.93.
William & Mary opened the meet on Thursday with competition in the middle- and long-distance events. Becca Harkness paced the Tribe in the 800m, finishing third in her heat with a time of 2:12.56, the fastest mark among William & Mary competitors in the event. In the men's 5000m, Luke Ellwood recorded a time of 14:29.50 to place seventh in his heat.
