William & Mary Heads to Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — William & Mary track & field returns to competition this week at the historic Penn Relays, set for April 23–25 at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa.

Action begins Thursday afternoon with championship events on the track and in the field. Amelia Bawcombe will open competition for the Tribe in the women's hammer throw Championship at 2:00 p.m. On the track, Kennedy Reynolds is slated for the women's 400m hurdles Championship at 5:30 p.m., Molly Weithman will compete in the women's 5000m Championship at 7:45 p.m., and Hayes Trapp is scheduled for the men's 10,000m Championship at 10:15 p.m.

Competition continues Friday with a full slate of events on both the track and in the field. The Tribe will compete in several relay events, including the women's 4x100 (1:15 p.m.) and 4x400 (7:20 p.m.), while individual competitors are scheduled across multiple field events throughout the day. Brian Walsh will compete in the long jump at noon, while Raiden Lafortune (1:45 p.m.) and Elaina Perkins (5:15 p.m.) are set for the javelin. Uriah Harris will compete in the shot put (3:00 p.m.), while Leighton McGee is slated for the pole vault (4:00 p.m.) and Katriel Amoyaw will compete in the high jump (4:00 p.m.). In the women's pole vault, Kerrigan Kimener and Raina Fitzwater will compete at 12:30 p.m., while Amelia Bawcombe returns to action in the discus at 3:30 p.m. The Tribe will also compete in the men's distance medley relay at 12:45 p.m.

Saturday's schedule features additional championship and relay events, highlighted by the men's 4x800 Championship at 2:18 p.m. and the women's 4x800 at 4:50 p.m. Kalli Knott will also compete in the women's pole vault Championship at 2:30 p.m., while Uriah Harris is scheduled for the men's discus Championship at 11:30 a.m. as the meet wraps up three days of competition.

Tribe News and Notes


- Tia Taylor continued her standout outdoor season at the Virginia Challenge, posting a time of 14.14 in the 100m hurdles finals, which ranks sixth all-time in program history.

- Kennedy Reynolds delivered one of the top performances in program history in the 400m hurdles, clocking a personal-best 1:00.18 to move to No. 2 all-time at William & Mary.

- Freshman Amelia Bawcombe reset her own school freshman record in the hammer throw with a mark of 57.90m (189-11) at the Virginia Challenge, ranking third all-time in program history for performers.

- On the distance side, the Tribe saw strong performances at the Wake Forest Invitational, highlighted by a heat victory from Henry Anderson in the 1500m and a runner-up finish from Nolan Yeagle in another section.

- William & Mary will be represented across a wide range of events at the Penn Relays, including championship races, relays and field events, as the Tribe continues its outdoor campaign against one of the nation's premier fields.
