HIGH POINT, N.C. – Cooler than the flip side of the pillow. And record-breaking, too.
Jackson Cooley had a historic day at High Point University's Meet of Champions on Saturday, setting a pair of school and meet records in the 100m and 200m dash. The junior standout broke his own mark in the 100m — which he set earlier at this year's Colonial Relays — crossing the finish line in a blistering 10.49. He then followed up with a 21.12 in the 200m, topping a record that was set in 1985.
Cooley's performance highlighted a day chock-full of PRs and season's-best for the entire W&M squad, which finished sixth in the team standings. George Mason captured first, with Charlotte and High Point rounding out the top three.

Gabriel Albers ran a 15.87.
400m
Stephen Larson posted his best time in the event, running a 50.38 to take 11
th place.

Albers notched a PR time of 56.97.
800m
Jonathan Kumer finished sixth with a PR 1:52.50, while his fellow freshman
Matthias Oettl (1:54.91, PR) and
Brendan DiStefano (1:55.25) finished 12
th and 13
th.
1,500m
Evan Goodell ran a season-best 3:50.92 to finish in sixth and lead the Tribe.
Joseph Taylor finished in 15
th with a PR time of 4:00.81, a personal best, while
Lucas Thompson was 19
th.
3,000m Steeplechase
Luke Henkel finished sixth in the event.
4x400 Relay
The Tribe's team finished with a time of 3:25.49.
Discus
Freshman
Jason Nwosu recorded a PR at 48.11m (157-10) and finished fifth in the event, while
Ross Bazzichi was 10
th. Nwosu's throw moves him into No. 11 on the Tribe's all-time performers list.
Hammer
Nwosu finished top-10 at 46.73m (153-3) and Bazzichi finished in 12
th at 45.33m (148-8).
Shot Put
Nwosu took 11
th place in the event.
Javelin
Chris Arias posted a season's-best performance, taking first place at 65.57m (215-1).
Pole Vault
J.P. Mintz posted a PR of 4.35m (14-3.25).
