LEXINGTON, Ky. — William & Mary track & field wrapped up competition at the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field East First Round on Friday at the UK Track & Field Complex.

Freshman Uriah Harris concluded his standout outdoor season in the men's discus first round, placing 34th overall with a mark of 52.86m (173-5) against one of the top regional fields in the country. The top 12 finishers advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Harris capped an impressive freshman campaign that included three CAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors and a CAA championship in the shot put earlier this month. During the outdoor season, Harris reset the William & Mary freshman records in both the shot put and discus.

Earlier this week in Lexington, Harris tied the William & Mary program record in the shot put with a mark of 18.37m (60-3¼), while also breaking his own freshman record in the event. He finished the season tied for first all-time in program history in the shot put and ranked third all-time in the discus.

Later Friday evening, senior Jonathan Kumer competed in the men's 800m quarterfinals and clocked a time of 1:50.00. Kumer advanced to the quarterfinal round after posting a personal-best 1:47.19 in Wednesday's first round, the second-fastest performance in William & Mary program history.

Kumer closed out a strong senior season that included a personal-best 1:47.19 earlier this week in Lexington. Earlier this spring, he moved to No. 6 on William & Mary's all-time list in the 800m with a 1:47.52 at the Hill City Twilight before surpassing that mark at the NCAA East First Round.
