What is the Lord Botetourt Affair?

Now entering its 37th year, the Lord Botetourt Affair (LBA) remains the premier fundraising event of the William & Mary Athletics Foundation. For more than three decades, LBA has provided vital support for thousands of student-athletes, helping to enhance both their academic and athletic experiences.
 

The newly announced date builds on the previously shared decision to transition the event from its traditional winter timing to the fall—an intentional move designed to elevate the experience and expand engagement across the William & Mary community. The selection of Sept. 18 positions LBA at the center of a vibrant campus weekend, welcoming alumni, families, and fans back to Williamsburg during one of the most spirited times of the academic year.
 

This year's event will take place at the new, and state-of-the-art, Mackesy Sports Performance Center,  marking an exciting new chapter for one of the university's most cherished tradition. Known as "The Mack", the new facility reflects William & Mary's continued investment in excellence. The modern venue will enhance the LBA event atmosphere while showcasing the future of Tribe Athletics.
