LYNCHBURG, Va. – The William & Mary women's indoor track and field team posted strong performances on Saturday, competing in the 3rd Annual Brant Tolsma Invitational at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
Field Events
Shot Put
Keeley Suzenski added yet another strong performance to her personal repertoire in the event with a second-place finish of 14.97 (49-01.50).
Ella Carlson placed 17
th at 11.29m (37-00.50).
Pole Vault
Olesya Stikowski and
Sophie Fernandez both notched solid finishes for the Green and Gold. Stikowski finished in a five-way tie for third at 3.80m (12-05.50), while Fernandez was ninth at 3.50m (11-05.75).
Triple Jump
Dana Abraham placed ninth at 10.89m (35-08.75)
Running Events
Mile
The reigning CAA Cross Country Rookie of the Year in,
Sofia Istnick continued to prove why she's one of the best in distance events, taking second place with a time of 4:59.52. Meanwhile,
Caroline Jones and
Lucy Young placed within steps of each other, crossing the finish line in 11
th (5:09.91) and 12
th (5:10.07).
Jennifer Tsai wrapped up the Tribe contingent in the event, placing 16
th in 5:14.47.
400m
Makenzie Joiner finished 22
nd in a loaded field with a time of 1:00.69.
800m
Finishing in 2:20.09,
Molly Coyle took 10
th place in the event.
4X400m Relay
The quartet of
Lizzy Gregory,
Emily Ervin,
Carly Swierbut, and
Makenzie Joiner took sixth place in 3:55.62, while the team of
Caroline Jones,
Sofia Istnick,
Jennifer Tsai, and
Molly Coyle finished in 13
th with a time of 4:14.57.
