Before the exams and holidays, W&M broke off the rust of the summer and fall with a strong day at Navy, earning five ECAC qualifying marks in its first attempt of the year. That included in the 4x400m relay, where the Tribe ran 3:46.62, the third-fastest time ever in school history. That team included fourth-year veterans
Gabby Runge (Midlothian, Va.),
Susanna Maisto (Silver Spring, Md.), and
Victoria Gersch (Mercer Island, Wash.), as well as freshman
Carly Swierbut (Newtown, Conn.). Those four are in the relay pool again this weekend alongside another freshman,
Amaya Johnson (Sterling, Va.), who was a Junior Olympics national champion in the 4x400m in high school. Individually, Swierbut will run the 400m alongside redshirt-sophomore
Aly Logue (Doylestown, Pa.), while the three seniors all run the 500m dash for the second time, after each qualified for the ECAC meet in December as well.
The Tribe's fifth qualifier came in the pole vault, with senior
Lauren Graves (Fredericksburg, Va.) jumping an indoor-best 3.70m (12-1.5) in December. She'll be back in action on Saturday, alongside redshirt-junior
Sophie Caplan (Clarksville, Md.) who set a lifetime-best at Navy, and junior
Taylor E. Jones (Fairfax Station, Va.), an ECAC qualifier in 2019. Jones will be competing in the triple jump as well as the vault, alongside senior and outdoor school record-holder
Alexis Brender a Brandis (Williamsburg, Va.) who will be doubling back in the triple after starting the day with the long jump. Rounding out the field events will be the shot put, where junior
Leah Earnest (Riner, Va.) will be competing with rookie
Keeley Suzenski (Fleetwood, Pa.). Suzenski began her season in fine fashion in December, breaking W&M's freshman record in the event at 13.47m (44-2.5).
Back on the track, junior
Jadyn Currie (Virginia Beach, Va.) will pull double-duty in both her signature event, the 60m hurdles, as well as in the 60m dash. In the latter event, she'll race alongside her classmate
Felecia Hayes (Chesapeake, Va.) and senior
Priya Sidhu (Issaquah, Wash.). Redshirt-junior
Josie Landis (Pittsburgh, Pa.) will try her hand at the rare 600m dash, while the freshman trio of
Hope Stephens (Springfield, Va.),
Megan Dougherty (Sinking Spring, Pa.), and
Anna Cestari (Washington, D.C.) will all race in the 800m. Juniors
Taylor D. Jones (Virginia Beach, Va.) and
Lauren Finikiotis (Gibsonia, Pa.) are both entered in the 1,000m run, while seniors
Liv Paxton (Rock Hill, S.C.) and
Deirdre Lewin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) will be joined in the mile by rookie
Kaycee Cox-Philyaw (Linden, Va.). Finishing out the line-up is the 3,000m run, which will include redshirt-sophomores
Lauren Kroepfl (Robbinsville, N.J.) and
Julia Lambert (Virginia Beach, Va.) along with junior
Megan Kolbe (Doylestown, Pa.).
