WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary track & field turned in a strong all-around performance at the Dan Stimson Memorial Invitational on Saturday at Zable Stadium, highlighted by multiple event victories and standout performances across both the track and field.
Freshman Uriah Harris led the way for the Tribe with a dominant day in the throws, capturing titles in both the shot put and discus. Harris posted a mark of 17.89m (58-8.25) in the shot put, setting a new William & Mary outdoor freshman record while ranking seventh all-time in program history. He followed with a winning throw of 51.87m (170-2) in the discus. Earlier this season, Harris also set the program's freshman record in the discus, giving him two freshman records during the outdoor campaign.
The Tribe saw continued success in the field events, beginning with Jolie Brassell, who won the women's javelin. Katriel Amoyaw added a victory in the women's high jump, clearing 1.56m (5-1¼") to finish first in a tie at the top of the field. In the women's pole vault, freshman Raina Fitzwater secured the title with a clearance of 3.67m (12-0¼"), while Leighton McGee took first in the men's pole vault at 4.90m (16-0¾").
Talia Anderson added to the Tribe's field success with a win in the women's hammer throw, recording a mark of 47.73m (156-7), and Amelia Bawcombe captured the women's discus title with a throw of 42.74m (140-2½").
On the track, William & Mary continued to impress with several strong performances. Freshman Nolan Yeagle turned in one of the top efforts of the day, finishing second in the 2,000m steeplechase in 5:59.75, a time that ranks fifth all-time in program history. Eric Fagan added a third-place finish for the Tribe in 6:07.39.
Kelly Ann Sutterfield led a 1-2 finish for William & Mary in the women's 800m, winning the event in 2:15.36, while Lydia Wallis followed closely behind in second at 2:15.98. Kennedy Reynolds added another victory on the track, winning the women's 400m hurdles in 1:03.55.
Tia Taylor delivered one of the most notable performances of the meet in the women's 100m hurdles, finishing second in 13.92. The time would have set a school record, but did not qualify due to wind conditions.

William & Mary returns to action next weekend, hosting the Colonial Relays from April 2–4 at Zable Stadium.
