RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary freshman Uriah Harris was named the CAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Harris earned the honor following a dominant performance at the Dan Stimson Memorial Invitational on March 28. The Richmond, Va., native captured titles in both the shot put and discus, leading the Tribe in a strong showing at its home meet.
Harris won the shot put with a mark of 17.89m (58-8.25), setting a new William & Mary outdoor freshman record while ranking seventh all-time in program history. He followed with a victory in the discus at 51.87m (170-2), giving him two event wins on the day.
The award marks Harris' second CAA Field Athlete of the Week honor of the outdoor season after also earning the recognition on March 17.
Earlier this season, Harris also set the program's freshman record in the discus, giving him two freshman records during the outdoor campaign.
