WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — William & Mary track & field posted a strong day of performances on Day Two of the Colonial Relays on Friday at Zable Stadium, highlighted by four event victories and multiple all-time marks.
The Tribe was led by event wins from Amelia Bawcombe, Summer Mellow, and Kalli Knott on the women's side, while Raiden Lafortune added a victory for the men.
Bawcombe continued her standout freshman campaign by winning the hammer throw with a mark of 57.04m (187-1½). Mellow followed with a victory in the 100m dash, clocking a personal-best time of 12.01. Knott rounded out the Tribe's wins in the field, capturing the pole vault at 3.97m (13-0.25), tying for 10th in program history.
William & Mary also turned in several all-time performances on the day. Freshman Kennedy Reynolds placed second in the 400m hurdles in 1:00.91, moving to third all-time in program history. Senior Tia Taylor added a runner-up finish in the long jump at 5.92m (19-5), also ranking third all-time.
On the men's side, Lafortune claimed the javelin title with a throw of 63.31m (207-8½), leading the Tribe's efforts in the field.
