DURHAM, N.C. – Sprinting toward success — and even more history — on Saturday.
For the second straight week, sophomore
Melissa Cunningham added her name to William & Mary's program record books, running the eighth-fastest 100m time by a Tribe athlete. At Day 3 of the Duke Invitational, she crossed the finish line in 12.09, taking fifth place in the event. Cunningham now owns a pair of top-10 performances after running the fourth-fastest time in the event at last week's Colonial Relays.
And she wasn't the only one running well, either.
Anna Kessler finished ninth in the dash with a time of 12.31. Meanwhile, the Tribe's 4x100 relay squad of Cunningham, Kessler,
Lizzy Gregory, and
Emily Ervin ran a 47.90 to take fifth place. And in the 400m,
Carly Swierbut notched an eighth-place finish with a time of 57.18, while Gregory was 19
th at 58.58.
On the field side of things,
Keeley Suzenski was ninth in the shot put at 13.40m (43-11.75).
