BLACKSBURG, Va. — For the second time in the last seven days,
Melissa Cunningham ran a 7.73 in the 60m — matching her own PR and the second-fastest time in William & Mary history. This most recent history-making performance came in Friday's Doc Hale VT Meet at the Rector Field House.
And Cunningham wasn't the only one with a record-setting performance at Day One of the meet.
Emily Ervin's sixth-place finish of 56.21 in the 400m was the ninth-fastest time in program history.
Field Events
Pole Vault
Olesya Sitkowski captured a fourth-place finish at 3.70m (12-1.5), while
Sophie Fernandez recorded a season-best 3.55m (11.-7.75) to finish in 13
th.
Elizabeth Upright was 14
th at 3.40m (11-1.75).
Long Jump
Megan Heidebrecht led the way for W&M with a 16
th-place finish at 5.53m (18-1.75). Dana Abrham was 24
th with a PR of 5.27m (17-3.5), while
Elizabeth Dupras was 27
th.
Weight Throw
Ella Carlson placed 16
th at 15.37m (50-5.25) and
Keeley Suzenski was 18
th at 15.09m (49-6.25), while
Talia Anderson placed 26th.
Running Events
60m Hurdles
Clare Howard (9.56) and
Elizabeth Dupras (9.72) both posted PRs in the event.
60m
Melissa Cunningham ran a 7.73 for the second straight week.
Amaya Johnson posted a time of 7.84, a PR that's tied for 14
th fastest in W&M hiatory, while
Anna Kessler ran a season-best 7.86.
Charlotte Robinson rounded out the W&M contingent in the event, posting her own PR of 8.24.
400m
Emily Ervin ran a 56.21 to finish sixth, while
Lizzy Gregory was 21st.
800m
Molly Coyle led the Green and Gold, finishing 14
th with a PR of 2:15.65.
Lydia Wallis placed 20
th and
Jennifer Tsai was 22
nd.
3000m
Tessa Dobrinski crossed the finish line in fourth with a time of 10:16.60, while
Emily Sell finished ninth.
