LYNCHBURG, Va. – In a weekend chock-full of history-making moments,
Kelly Ann Sutterfield wrapped up William & Mary's two-day performance at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational in style on Saturday. With a record of her own.
Sutterfield posted a time of 2:56.43 in the 1,000m, finishing fourth and setting a brand-new Tribe freshman record. The previous mark of 2:56.84 was set by Meghan Bishop at the GMU Winter Open in 2004.
Lydia Wallis also ran a strong race, finishing in a time of 3:04.12.
200m
Fresh off their record-setting performances in the 60m on Friday,
Melissa Cunningham and
Anna Kessler both followed up with strong performances in this event. Cunningham notched a time of 25.47, putting her at No. 11 on the Tribe's all-time performers list, while Kessler posted a 25.72 to move up to No. 13 on the list.
500m
Makenzie Joiner crossed the finish line in 17
th with a time of 1:18.28.
Mile
Arianna DeBoer finished tenth with a time of 4:54.18, while
Lucy Young was 37
th.
4x400 Relay
The team of
Lizzy Gregory,
Emily Ervin,
Clare Howard, and
Makenzie Joiner finished fifth in 3:49.34, the 16
th fastest time in William & Mary history
High Jump
Liliana Klemanski finished tied for 20
th at 1.53m (5-00.25).
Triple Jump
Dana Abraham notched a 19
th-place finish at 11.07m (36-04.00).
Shot Put
Keeley Suzenski finished fourth at 14.85m (48-08.75), the seventh-best all-time performance in Green and Gold history. Suzenski now owns the top 10 all-time performances.
Ella Carlson placed 25th.
