NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The William & Mary women's indoor track and field team wrapped up a jam-packed weekend with a strong Sunday, racking up several first-place finishes and PRs at Christopher Newport University's Vince Brown Invitational.
The Tribe swept the top four spots in the mile, led by a PR-performance from
Kelly Ann Sutterfield who crossed the finish line in 4:54.
Annie Wicker,
Emily Sell, and
Tessa Dobrinski rounded out the top-4, while
Kaycee Cox-Philyaw wasn't far behind in sixth.
Ella Carlson captured the top spot in the weight throw with a PR at 15.37m (50-05.25), while
Talia Anderson was third at 13.43m (44-00.75).
Dana Abraham added her own PR in the long jump with a third-place finish at 5.08m (16-08.00).
Field Events
Pole Vault
Fiona Basewitz won the event at 3.25m (10-08.00).
High Jump
Ellie St. Martin and
Liliana Klemanski both finished second at 1.52m (4-11.75
).
Triple Jump
Dana Abraham was fourth in the event at 10.93m (35-10.50).
Shot Put
Ella Carlson placed sixth at 11.22m (36-09.75)
Running Events
60m Hurdles
Elizabeth Dupras and
Clare Howard both competed in the final of the event.
200m
Charlotte Robinson was tenth,
Elizabeth Dupras finished 14
th, and
Clare Howard was 19
th.
400m
Lydia Wallis captured a seventh-place finish, while
Hannah Holland was 17
th.
800m
Molly Coyle crossed the finish line first to lead the Tribe in a Green and Gold-filled event.
Lucy Young was third,
Anna Cestari fourth, and
Megan Dougherty wrapped up the W&M contingent in fifth.
3000m
Jennifer Tsai and
Annika Griggs earned second and third-place finishes, while
Emily Graves rounded out the event's top 10.
4x400 Relay
The team of
Molly Coyle,
Kelly Ann Sutterfield,
Tessa Dobrinski, and
Lydia Wallis finished in second with a time of 4:14.74.
