CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -The William & Mary women's track & field team set new school records and three personal best day two of the Virginia Challenge, Friday evening.
Sophomore, Mary Gregory broke a school record that has been untouched for the last 13 years in the 400 meters. With a time of 54.81, Gregory set a personal best and finished first in her group.
How it happened:Â
- On Thursday night red-shirt sophomore Keeley Suzenski recorded a personal best in the hammer throw with a mark of 54.98m. Suzenski's throw stands as the second-best in all-time W&M performers since 2010.
- In the long jump sophomore, Megan Heidebrecht set a personal best at 5.92m. Her jump now ranks second in W&M history.
- Senior Chelsea Wallace finished with a mark of 46.55m in the discus, marking her fifth school record in the event.
- Sophomore Olesya Sitkowski came back strong in earning a personal best in the pole vault at 3.81.
- In the 400-meter sophomore, Carly Swierbut finished third in her group at 56.81.
The Virginia Challenge continues Saturday, with events beginning at 12:00 p.m.
