Daniel Layton led the way for the Tribe, breaking the school record in the 60m hurdles—twice.
Field Events
Weight Throw

Ross Bazzichi and
Jason Nwosu opened up the field events for the Tribe, placing ninth with 15.31m (50'2) and 16
th with 12.67m (41'7), respectively.
Long Jump
Harrison Duncan placed third for the Green and Gold at 7.14m (23'5.25).
Ethan Buenviaje was 15
th at 6.43m (12'1.25), while
Daniel Layton was 19
th at 6.01m (19'8.75), and
Cole Harris finished 25
th at 5.52m (18'1.5).
Shot Put
Making his collegiate debut on Saturday,
Jason Nwosu showed off his strength in this event, placing sixth at 15.41m (50'6.75).
Running Events
Mile
Sam Pritchard picked up right where he left off during the cross country season, finishing second at 4:13.04.
Stephen Larson was ninth at 4
:24.61, while
Luke Henkel placed 11
th at 4:28.02.
60m Hurdles
Daniel Layton made W&M history in the event, breaking Dylan Anderson's 2018 school record by 0.5 seconds in the prelims with an 8.18. He followed it up in the final with a third-place finish of 8.17, breaking his own recently-recorded record in the process.
Gabriel Albers and
Cole Harris also competed in the final, finishing 17
th (9.14) and 18
th (9.33), respectively.
60m
Jackson Cooley notched a top-10 performance, crossing the finish line in ninth place at 7.01.
400m
Adding to his Saturday afternoon schedule,
Daniel Layton finished fifth in 50.03.
Cole Harris also ran a strong event, placing 13
th in 52.63.
500m
The only Tribe athlete to run at this distance,
Austin Rice recorded a second-place finish with a 1:05.52 showing in the event. Rice's finish was just shy of W&M's freshman record—1:05.0, set in 1984.
800m
Sam Pritchard and
Joshua Shackelford ran for the Tribe in the event, finishing in eighth (1:58.86) and 12
th (2:06.81), respectively.
1000m
Matthias Oettl wrapped up the race in 11
th place with a time of 2:36.75.
3000m
A Tribe trio swept the top three spots as
T.J. Corliss (8:28.09),
Nate Jennings (8:29.08), and
Luke Ellwood (8:29.78) finished 1-2-3 in the event.
Jacob Jones was sixth at 8:35.40, while
Joseph Taylor finished 10
th at 8:53.30.
4x400m Relay
The team of
Austin Rice,
Gabriel Albers,
Cole Harris, and
Matthias Oettl crossed the finish line in fifth place (3:27.58) to wrap up the running events for the W&M men's squad.
