Leinbach can be considered the program's first truly great women's golfer, as she won three-straight Virginia state titles from 1978-80. Even more impressive, she helped Tribe win the 1981 AIAW Division II national title, placing sixth overall to earn All-American honors. That performance earned her a spot in the W&M Hall of Fame as part of the team's induction, and she is one of only three All-Americans in school history.
Leinbach averaged 82.9 strokes per round in her career, a number that ranked her second in school history when she graduated. She was also a record-holder in both fall scoring average (79.3 in 1980) and spring average (84.5 in 1980), and had at least five top-five finishes in her career.
