The William and Mary women's swimming team fell in its season-opener at Towson Saturday afternoon, 197-95. The Tribe is 0-1 overall and 0-1 in the CAA to start the year, while the Tigers (winners of four of the last five conference titles) improved to 1-0 and 1-0 in league play.

200 Medley Relay
The Tribe's day began with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay. Sophomore
Liz Glenn (Greenwood Village, Colo.) led off the team, which also included
Emily Bart (Cherry Hill, N.J.),
Megan Howard (McLean, Va.), and
Sara Shaner (Clarendon Hills, Ill.), and finished in 1:47.03. W&M also had the third-place team in 1:47.98, courtesy of the quartet of
Noelle Klockner (Marlboro, N.J.),
Courtney Mizerak (Manassas, Va.),
Jessie Ustjanuaskas (West Hartford, Conn.), and
Greta Schneider (Moorestown, N.J.).
1000 Free
In the 1000 free, senior
Caylyn Tate (Sterling, Va.) scored two points for the Tribe in 10:21.71, and freshman
Hannah Vester (Cincinnati, Ohio) added another with her time of 10:35.73.
200 Free
Junior
Jen Bentley (Jamestown, N.Y.) earned a fourth-place finish in the 200 free in 1:55.29, ahead of freshman
Amanda Weidner (Evanston, Ill.) who was sixth in 1:58.09.
100 Back
Glenn added an individual silver to her relay finish in the 100 backstroke, timing 58.43 for second place and four points. Klockner was fourth in the event, touching the wall in 59.02 seconds.
100 Breast
Freshman
Lindsey Winston (Henrico, Va.) began her impressive day with the first of three runner-up showings in the 100 breast, timing 1:07.40 to begin her college career.
Emily Bart was fourth in the race, with a time of 1:08.66.
200 Fly
Jessie Ustjanauskas gave W&M a bronze medal in the 200 fly, touching the wall in 2:10.87, and sophomore
Rebecca Spicher (Chesapeake, Va.) added another point in fifth place with a time of 2:12.76.
50 Free
Megan Howard was second in the 50 free by the slimmest of margins, .01 seconds, touching the wall in 23.79 seconds.
Sara Shaner was right behind her in 23.89 for third place.
100 Free
Shaner came through with the Tribe's first win following the intermission, swimming 52.77 seconds in the 100 free to claim gold.
Noelle Klockner was third in 54.02 seconds, and
Jen Bentley was just a quarter-inch behind her for fourth place and a time of 54.03 seconds.
200 Back
The very next event was also a W&M victory, thanks to
Liz Glenn's 2:03.93 showing in the 200 back. Junior
Devin Henry (Roanoke, Va.) added another team point with her time of 2:11.94.
200 Breast
Lindsey Winston's second silver came in the 200 breast, as she cruised into the wall in 2:26.86.
Emily Bart was close behind for third, stopping the clock in 2:26.97.
500 Free
Jen Bentley was fourth for the third time on the afternoon in the 500 free, swimming the 20 lengths of the pool in 5:08.56.
Caylyn Tate took fifth in the race, finishing in a time of 5:08.87.
100 Fly
Megan Howard claimed another silver medal in the 100 fly with a time of 57.72 seconds, and
Jessie Ustjanauskas was fourth in 58.88.
200 IM
Winston's final silver came in the 200 IM, thanks to a time of 2:09.88.
Devin Henry picked up another team point in a time of 2:12.77.
400 Free Relay
W&M's final victory came in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:33.22. The aggregration included

Jen Bentley, and
