NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The William and Mary men's track and field team took a quick break from final exams Saturday, and closed out the regular season at CNU's New Captains Invitational. The Tribe came away with a pair of IC4A-qualifying performances, and two event victories

Peter Dorrell (Blacksburg, Va.) ran a season-best time of 9:12.09 for the win, and to qualify him for the IC4A Championships. With Dorrell coming in under the standard, the Tribe will have five runners in the IC4A steeplechase next weekend. Freshman
Thomas Baker (Louisa, Va.) was second, finishing in 9:44.66.
Hammer ThrowJunior
Zach Jordan (Dublin, Ohio) continued his strong season in the hammer throw, winning with an IC4A-qualifying throw of 178-3 (54.33 meters). This spring, seven of Jordan's eight attempts have surpassed the IC4A standard.
DiscusIn the discus, senior
Dan Klatzkin (Gaithersburg, Md.) took second with a throw of 148-2 (45.17m).
High JumpFreshman
Ben Katz (Manakin-Sabot, Va.) also took second, closing his season at a height of 6-4.75 (1.95m) in the high jump.
110m HurdlesSophomore
Matt Clark (Richmond, Va.) earned a silver medal of his own in the 110m hurdles, clearing the course in 15.44 seconds.
1,500m RunFreshman
Zach Tennant (Fairview, W.Va.) took the day's final second-place for the Tribe in the 1,500m, running 3:55.62. Classmate
John Muller (LaGrangeville, N.Y.) was third in 3:59.52, just ahead of
Alex McGrath (Marlborough, N.H.) in 4:00.75. Senior
Robert Sagar (Alexandria, Va.) rounded out the top five in 4:01.37.
400m HurdlesA bronze medal also went to junior
Chris McIntosh (Owings Mill, Md.) in the 400m hurdles, after he completed his lap of the track in 56.61 seconds.
Pole VaultJunior
Keith Constance (Independence, Mo.) was third in the pole vault, topping the bar at 13-3.75 (4.06m).
Shot PutIn the shot put, freshman
Todd Repass (Fredericksburg, Va.) brought his year to a close with a fourth-place showing, and a season-best put of 46-10 (14.27m).
William and Mary heads to Princeton, N.J., next weekend for the IC4A Championships.
