RICHMOND, Va. — William & Mary standout Tia Taylor was named the CAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Taylor earned the honor following a record-breaking performance at the Duke Invitational over the weekend. The senior set a new William & Mary program record in the long jump, posting a mark of 6.08m (19-11.5) to finish seventh in a highly competitive field.
In addition to her school-record performance, Taylor also turned in a strong showing in the 100m hurdles, clocking a time of 14.09 in the prelims, which ranks fourth all-time in program history.
The honor marks the first time Taylor has earned CAA Field Athlete of the Week recognition during her career at William & Mary and the third time during the outdoor season that a member of the Tribe has received a weekly award.
WHAT'S NEXT?
William & Mary will split squads this weekend, competing at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., and the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va.
