Perry Irons and junior
Hayes Trapp highlighted the William & Mary effort at the 2025 CAA Cross Country Championships on Friday at Ocean County Park. Irons ran the sixth-fastest time in school history to finish at the CAA silver medalist, while Trapp finished third at the championships for the second consecutive season.

In total, the Tribe tallied six All-CAA performers - four men and two women. Joining Trapp in earning All-CAA honors for the men are senior
Brendan DiStefano, his second career honor, redshirt freshman
Caleb Wilcox and true freshman
Eli Phillips. It marked the second consecutive year W&M had four All-CAA performers on the men's side. For the women, sophomore Molley Weithman earned All-CAA honors for the second-straight season in joining Irons on the all-league squad.

For the second-straight season, the women's team finished as the CAA runner-up, this time behind Elon, who won with a total of 28 ahead of the Tribe's 68. Northeastern (100 points), Monmouth (102), and Charleston (141) rounded out the top five.

On the men's side, the Tribe finished fourth with 69 points behind CAA Champion Hofstra (44), Northeastern (51), and Stony Brook (67).

Irons turned in the sixth-fastest 6K time in school history, crossing the line 20:01.2. It was the fastest for a Tribe runner since Emily Stites posted a time of 19:57.5 at NCAA Southeast Region Championships in 2015. Irons and Elon's Katie Blount ran in a pack of two throughout the race, before Blount pulled ahead to take home the individual victory in a time of 19:56.0. Â

Along with Irons, Weithman earned All-CAA for the second consecutive season. She improved two seconds and moved up two places from her rookie campaign, crossing the line in 21:28.1 to take 13th place.

Senior
Kelly Ann Sutterfield turned in her best performance at a CAA Championship, just missing an All-CAA nod. She placed 17th in a time of 21:36.8, which was nearly a minute and a half better than her time at the championship race in 2024.

Freshman
Veronica Znajda and sophomore
Maddie Gypson gave W&M all five runners among the top 25 in the CAA. Znajda finished 20th in a time of 21:44.7, just ahead of Gypson who was one spot back in 21:46.3.

Trapp placed third at the CAA Championship for the second-straight year. He was fifth after the first 2K and moved up to third at the 4K mark before staying there for the remainder of the race. He crossed the line in 23:37.9 and earned All-CAA honors for the third year in a row.

DiStefano was the second Tribe runner to cross the finish line, earning a top-10 performance. He moved up two spots from his 12th-place finish in last year's CAA Championship. DiStefano ran a career-best 8K time of 24:05.7, which was minute faster than his time a season ago.

The rookie duo of Wilcox and Phillips posted top-15 efforts to round out the Tribe's All-CAA quartet. Wilcox finished 13th in a time of 24:12.1 followed by Phillips in 15th less than a second back.

Junior
Peyton Golden rounded out the Tribe's scoring group in 28th place at 24:48.0. Senior
Luke Ellwood was 34th in 25:00.9.

The Tribe continues its championship season at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 14. The event will be held at the Panorama Farms Course in Charlottesville, Va.
