Hayes Trapp highlighted the Tribe's effort at the NCAA Southeast Region Championships on Friday, earning All-Region honors.

Trapp covered the 10K Panorama Farms course in a career-best 30:14.9 to finish 23rd in the 234-runner field. Trapp was 25th after the opening 2K and remained among the top-25 throughout the race, peaking at 14th following the 5K mark. He is the first Tribe men's runner to earn all-region honors since Alex McGrath and Josh Hardin in 2012.

As a team, the men placed five runners among the top-100 on the way to finishing 12th in the 33-team field with a total of 347. It was the Tribe's best finish at the regional on the men's side since 2021.

Senior
Perry Irons paced the women's team, finishing in 38th place in a time of 20:29.3. The Tribe came in 18th as a team in the field of 36 with a total of 537.

No. 12-ranked Wake Forest won the men's race with 55 points and was followed by No. 30 Eastern Kentucky (68), No. 4 Virginia (95), No. 24 Virginia Tech (119), and North Carolina (157). In the women's 6K, No. 12 NC State won the Southeast Region with 54 followed by No. 20 South Carolina (97), No. 13 North Carolina (105), No.16 Virginia (136), and Wake Forest (144).

Junior
Brendan DiStefano was the Tribe's second finisher, coming in 63rd overall in a career-best 10K time of 31:08.5. He was 80th after the opening 5K and moved up 17 spots over the last half of the race to improve 46 positions over his regional finish a season ago.

Freshmen
Eli Phillips and
Caleb Wilcox placed 79th and 82nd, respectively. Phillips posted a time of 31:26.5, while Wilcox came in just 1.9 seconds later. Junior
Peyton Golden rounded the Tribe's scoring group in 100th at 31:56.2.

Kelly Ann Sutterfield was the second finisher on the women's side, crossing the line in 104th in a time of 21:38.6. Sophomore
Maddie Gypson followed closely behind three spots back in a time of 21:42.3

Freshman
Meghan Sullivan (22:16.5) and sophomore
Chloe Miller (22:26.2) were the final two scoring places for the Tribe in 145th and 155th, respectively.
