LYNCHBURG, Va. — The William & Mary track and field teams posted several noteworthy individual performances at the Brant Tolsma Invitational over the weekend, notching seven top-10 performances, including four from sprinters, and multiple event winners. The three-day meet concluded on Saturday at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
FRIDAY
The Tribe had a pair of top-10 performances in the women's 200m. Summer Mellow ran a time of 25.10 to tie for the fourth-fastest mark in program history, while Melissa Cunningham ran a new personal best of 25.14 for sixth all-time. Emily Ervin (25.12) also placed top-10 in the event along with her teammates, finishing ninth.
On the men's side of the 200m, David Seekford finished in 22.64 for ninth all-time.
In distance events, Catherine Garrison was the winner of the women's 5000m, timing out at 17:23.50. Arianna DeBoer followed her in second place at 17:23.54.
The Tribe had the top four finishers in the men's 5000m, led by Hayes Trapp (14:42.76), Luke Ellwood (14:47.53), and Carson Rackley (14:53.46).
Competing in the women's long jump, Katriel Amoyaw put together another impressive showing with a second-place finish of 18'10.25" (5.75m). That is succeeded by only eight individual performances in school history.
In the women's weight throw, Talia Anderson posted a throw of 51'1.25" (15.58m), good for ninth in a field of nearly 50 competitors.
SATURDAY
The Tribe had more success on Saturday, particularly in sprint events. In the women's 60m prelims, Kianne Benjamin tied her own personal best with a time of 7.79, good for ninth all-time. Melissa Cunningham finished a tick ahead clocking in at 7.69.
In the finals of the women's Mile, Kyra Holland finished first with a time of 4:47.30 that stands as fifth-fastest ever.
On the men's side, Seekford secured a top-10 in the 400m finals, finishing in 48.79 for fifth all-time. In the 800m finals, Caleb Wilcox had a solid showing as he crossed the finish line in 1:53.63. Wilcox placed first among collegians and second overall.
Amberson Bauer was another event winner for the Tribe, capturing the top time in the men's 1000m finals at 2:30.87. For the women's section, Holland placed second and posted another top-10 with a time of 2:53.10. Maddie Gypson also scored a podium finish at 2:57.60 for third place.
In the finals of the women's high jump, Amoyaw added another accolade by leaping 5'6.5" (1.69m) to place second. She equaled her PR which stands as seventh-best in school history.

The Tribe will head to University Park, Pa. next Friday for the Penn State National Open.
