Tribe Ready for CAA Championship Weekend

ELON, N.C. — William & Mary track & field returns to championship competition this weekend at the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association Outdoor Track & Field Championships, set for Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, at Belk Track and White Field on the campus of Elon University.

Action begins Friday morning with field events and combined events competition opening the championship meet. William & Mary will compete in the women's and men's hammer throw, javelin, long jump and pole vault throughout the day, while the Tribe is also scheduled for competition in the decathlon and heptathlon.

Friday's track schedule begins in the afternoon with preliminary races in the sprints, hurdles and middle-distance events, including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m. William & Mary will also compete in the women's and men's 3,000m steeplechase finals, along with the women's and men's 10,000m championship races later in the evening.

Competition continues Saturday with additional field events, including the high jump, shot put and discus, before championship finals on the track begin in the afternoon. The Tribe is slated to compete in relay events, sprint and hurdle finals, middle-distance races and the women's and men's 5,000m finals as the championship meet concludes Saturday evening.

- Kennedy Reynolds enters the CAA Championships coming off a historic performance at the Duke Twilight, where she broke the William & Mary school record in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best 59.26. The mark also established a new freshman record and marked the first sub-minute performance in program history in the event.

- Reynolds was named Co-CAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week following her record-breaking performance, earning the first conference weekly honor of her career.

- Freshman Amelia Bawcombe continued her standout outdoor season at the Duke Twilight, posting a personal-best mark of 45.17m (148-2) in the discus to move to No. 5 on William & Mary's all-time performers list. Bawcombe also owns the school freshman record in the hammer throw and ranks No. 2 all-time among performers in program history in the event..

- Kalli Knott remained among the top pole vaulters in program history after clearing 4.00m (13-1½) at the Duke Twilight, tied for the fifth-best performance in school history. Earlier this spring, Knott cleared a personal-best 4.05m (13-3½) at the Penn Relays, the third-best mark in program history.

- Freshman Finn Middleton enjoyed a breakout performance at the Duke Twilight, posting personal-best times in both the 110m hurdles and 100m dash. Middleton moved to No. 6 all-time in the 110m hurdles and No. 9 in program history in the 100m.
