LYNCHBURG, Va.— The William & Mary track and field programs wrapped up their regular season on Wednesday evening at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier in Lynchburg.
The Tribe, who just competed in the Virginia High Performance on Sunday, sent a limited roster to Lynchburg on Wednesday.
Jonathan Kumer posted the best finish of the day for W&M, coming in second out of 14 participants in the 800m. Kumer finished with a time of 1:52.07 with teammates
Lucas Thompson (1:54.19) and
Stephen Larson (1:58.20) finishing in fourth and fifth respectively.
Brendan DiStefano finished runner-up in the 3000m steeplechase on Wednesday. DiStefano crossed the line in 9:23.91 seconds with teammate
Wyatt Townsend right behind him in third. Townsend finished in 9:32.25.
Action in 1500m saw Samuel Pritchard crossing the line in 3:49.20, good for a sixth place finish.
Earlier in the day in the field events
Jason Nwosu finished second in the shot put, posting a mark of 14.70m. On the women's side
Keeley Suzenski finished third in the discus with a toss of 45.41m. Suzenski, a senior, also finished sixth in the shot put.
The Tribe has a brief hiatus, before beginning the postseason. The CAA Championships are slated to begin on May 10 in Elon, N.C.
