WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's cross country prepares for the Paul Short Run on Saturday, Sept. 30.
 
The Paul Short Run 
Saturday marks the 49th running of the Paul Short Run, presented by ASICS, at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course. The event is once again among the largest in the country, featuring over 450 college and high school teams with over 5,200 competitors. Paul Short Run includes two open races, six college races, and four high school scoring races.  Timing services are being provided by 
Leone Timing and will utilize live splits and scoring throughout all of the races. The Tribe will have individuals competing in the Men's 8K Open Race at 9:30 a.m. with the team taking part in the Men's College Gold 8K Race at 11 a.m.
Parking for the event is $10 (cash preferred, but CC accepted) and fans are encouraged to arrive early. All parking during the event is available in the lots around Stabler Arena and just North of the Goodman Stadium (124 Goodman Drive South, Bethlehem, PA 18015). Other fan information is available at the

W&M is one of 38 NCAA Division I programs, including 25 regionally-ranked teams, competing in the Gold 8K Race. The Gold 8K Race includes Division II programs Caldwell and Wingate, who is ranked No. 3 nationally; five top-20 Division III teams (No. 3 Wisconsin-La Crosse, No. 5 SUNY Geneseo, No. 8 Carnegie Mellon, No. 10 Johns Hopkins, and No. 18 Lynchburg); and two Canadian U SPORTS schools in Guelph and Western Ontario.

News and Notes 
- The Tribe competes in the Paul Short Run for the third-straight year and ninth time since 2002. In the previous eight trips to Bethlehem, Pa., W&M has placed in the top 10 five times, finishing as the runner-up in 2012 and winning the event in 2002.
- Last season, the Green and Gold was 27th in a 46-team field. 
Jacob Jones (120th at 24:13.4), 
Sam Pritchard (128th at 24:17.4), and 
Nate Jennings (130th at 24:18.6) led the way for the Tribe.
- W&M earned a regional rankings for the first time this season on Sept. 18, coming in at No. 14 in the Southeast Region. The Tribe remained in the 14th spot this week.
- In its most recent outing, the Tribe finished as the runner-up in a 17-team field, a spot in front of Southeast Region No. 5 Duke, at the Adidas XC Challenge in Cary, N.C. W&M finished ahead of four CAA foes at the event (Elon in seventh, Charleston in eighth, Campbell in 11th, and N.C. A&T in 14th).
- Senior 
Sam Pritchard was named the CAA Runner of the Week on Sept. 19. He led the Tribe, finishing eighth in a time of 18:20.1 at the Adidas XC Challenge.
- Along with Pritchard, the Tribe placed nine runner among the top 35 in a 153-runner field. In his first collegiate race, sophomore 
Brendan DiStefano came in a spot behind Pritchard in ninth at 18:24.6. Graduate student
