WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - William & Mary cross country returns to action when it travels to the Princeton Fall Classic on Friday, Oct. 17. The loaded event will take place at the Meadows Cross Country Course.
The women's 6K starts the event at 10:30 a.m. with the men's 8K to follow at 11:15 a.m.
The women's field features 26 teams, including one nationally-ranked program (No. 14 Penn State) and another receiving votes (Syracuse). In total, 19 of the 26 teams in the meet are ranked in the regional rankings.

- Last time out, the Tribe women's team won the title at the Fire Tower Project Run, topping an 11-team field, including host App State. In her first career 6K race, senior Perry Iron took home the individual crown, covering the course in 20:49.2. Sophomore
Molly Weithman earned the best finish of her young career, garnering third (21:42.3), while senior
Kelly Ann Sutterfield (6th) and freshman
Veronica Znajda (9th) both finished in the top 10.
- On the men's side, W&M was second in the 11-team field at the Fire Tower Project Run behind only host App State. Junior
Brendan DiStefano was the event runner-up in a time of 24:41.8, while redshirt freshman

Caleb Wilcox (10th) gave the Tribe four runners in the top 10.
- The Tribe women's team were ranked No. 15 in the latest Southeast Region rankings release on Oct. 6. W&M was ranked as high as No. 14 on Sept. 15.
- Following each of her first two races, Irons earned CAA Runner of the Week honors on Sept. 2 and Sept. 16. She finished fourth at the Spider Alumni Open and was the event runner-up at the Virginia Invitational. Each race has marked the first time Irons has competed at each distance in her collegiate career.

- Junior
Hayes Trapp and Wilcox have each taken home a CAA runner of the Week award. Most recently, Trapp took home the award after leading the Tribe with a 14th-place finish at the Virginia Invitational. Wilcox topped the Tribe at the Spider Alumni Open, crossing the line in 15th.
