400 Medley Relay Takes Gold On Day Two of CAA's

HAMPTON, VA.- Day two of the CAA Championships was highlighted by the Tribe women's 400 medley relay team topping the competition with a gold medal and setting a new CAA Championship meet record. Sophia Heilen finished second in the 200 IM, and Elizabeth Intihar and Katie Stevenson also found the podium. 
 
500 Free
 
Prelims- Elizabeth Intihar and Devin Genderson finished third and fourth respectively in the prelims, with Genderson dropping 1.45 seconds off her seeded time. Grace Tramack swam a 5:02.24 to earn a spot in the B Final. Will Glass finished with a 4:32.64 and was the fastest member of the Tribe and 10th overall. Rhett Cosgrove also qualified for the B final with a 4:34.96.
 
Finals- Intihar swam 3.40 better than her prelim time to take home the bronze medal, while Genderson dropped her time to 4.:54.18 to take sixth. Tramack would finish in 13th place. Glass took 10th with a time of 4:30.18 and Cosgrove dropped nearly two seconds off the prelims to finish 12th. 
 
200 IM
 
Prelims- Sophia Heilen became the first Tribe woman to swim under 2:00.00 in the 200 IM, with a prelim time of 1:59.74, just ahead of Ellie Scherer's 2:00.32 mark. Annie Tuttle and Peyton Proffitt both secured spots in the B Final. Connor Sokolowsky swam a 1:47.79 to qualify for the A Final, while Colby Mills, Noah Fields, and Cole Younger all earned spots in the B Heat. 
 
Finals- Heilen would go even lower with a new record of 1:59.30 to finish second in the finals, and Scherer would place fourth. Tuttle and Proffitt finished 15 and 16 respectively. Sokolowsky swam a lifetime best 1:46.41 to take fourth on the men's side while Fields and Younger would both drop time to finish 12th and 14th.

Prelims- Katie Stevenson's 22.81 was the fourth fastest time in prelims, and Sydney Querner delivered the 10th best mark at 23.42. Alex Valliere and Gavin Lamoureux qualified for the B Final on the men's side. 
 
Finals- Stevenson would take the podium again with a time of 22.67 to place third in the event and Querner would take 14th. Alex Valliere would win the B Final on the men's side with a 20.06 time and Lamoureux took 14th. 
 
400 Medley Relay- In the 400 medley the Tribe women swam a 3:36.15 to take home the gold medal. Kat Vanbourgondien, Ellie Scherer, Sophia Helien, and Katie Stevenson dropped 4.83 seconds off their seeded time to earn the gold and set a new CAA standard. The men swam a 3:14.06 behind a solid effort from Sokolowsky, Kyle Demers, Kent Codding, and Logan McDonald.
