Biography

2022-23 (Junior)
A three event finalist in the CAA Championship… Swam in 13 events over seven meets… Had two podium finishes and one first place individual finish… Began the season swimming a fourth place time in the 100 fly and fifth in the 100 free (10/2/22)... Had a second place finish in the 100 fly at Towson (10/22/22)... Helped the Tribe down Old Dominion with a first place finish in the 100 fly (1/14/23)... Earned a sixth place finish with a time of 48.48 in the 100 back at the CAA Championship (2/23/23)... Finished eighth in the 200 back with a time of 1:46.44, and 10th in the 100 fly, swimming a 48.41 time.
 
2021-22 (Sophomore)
Swam in 17 events over seven meets… Finalist in the 200 back at the CAA Championships… Made season debut swimming fourth in both the 200 free and 100 fly (10/23/21)... Had a ninth place finish in the 100 fly with a 50.10 time at the West Virginia Invitational… Aso finished 16th in the 100 back with a 52.26 time… Helped the team to a win over ODU with a fourth place finish in the 50 free and a third place finish in the 100 fly (1/15/21)... Swam a 1:50.20 in the 200 back at the CAA Championships prelims and finished 16th overall. 
 
2020-21 (Freshman)
Participated in all of the Tribe's events in the shortened season... Swam the 100 Free, 200 Free, 100 Back, 100 Fly, and the 200 IM in his freshman season.
 
Prep
Named All-State in Virginia's 6A (largest schools) classification each of the last two years ... Top-four finishes in both the 100 fly and the 100 back both years as well ... All-American consideration in the 100 fly in 2020 ... Helped lead Woodson to the state title as a senior and region titles in both 2019 and 2020 ... Swam on the state title-winning 200 medley relay that achieved an All-America Automatic time ... Second-team All-Met by the Washington Post in 2020, improving from honorable mention the year before ... Winter Junior Nationals qualifier ... Won the 200 free at the Potomac Valley Senior Championshps ... USA Swimming Scholastic All-American ... Math Honor Society.

Son of Forrest and Eleanor Codding ... Father swam at Virginia ... Three aunts (Cady '93, Cally '95, and Clare Codding '97) all swam for William & Mary ... Uncle, Craig Birgfeld '94, was W&M's first-ever CAA Champion in men's swimming, winning the 100 free in 1993 ... Also had two grandparents, Judy '63 and Fred '62 both graduate from William & Mary ... Enjoys playing basketball, reading, and spending time outdoors ... Majoring in biology.
