Field Hockey Set to Host Richmond on Friday, Travel to Liberty on Sunday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Starting 2-0 for the first time since 2013, William & Mary field hockey continues its season-opening stretch against in-state rivals this weekend. The Tribe hosts Richmond on Friday at Busch Field, before heading to No. 6 Liberty on Sunday.

Senior Sally Snead scored the equalizer with 49 seconds remaining in regulation before junior Allison Goodwin notched the winniner in the second OT to lift the Tribe to a 3-2 upset win over No. 19 Old Dominion on Aug. 26. Two days later, the Green and Gold won a second-straight OT game this time over VCU as Snead broke the scoreless stale mate with a drive just 1:26 into the extra session. For her efforts, Snead was named the CAA Player of the Week as well as being selected the William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery.
