Snead’s Game-Winner Lifts Field Hockey Past VCU, 1-0, in OT

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The William & Mary field hockey team posted another exciting overtime victory at Busch Field on Sunday afternoon, as it improved its record to 2-0 with a 1-0 triumph against VCU.

Senior Sally Snead provided the game-winner just 1:26 into overtime off an assist from senior Lily Saunders. Senior Audrey Domovich ignited a breakaway down the right side with a pass to Saunders, who connected with Snead at the top of the circle.

The goal was Snead's second of the year, as she tallied the game-tying score late in the fourth quarter that helped propel W&M to a 3-2 season-opening victory against No. 19 Old Dominion.

Junior goalie Maddie George posted a pair of saves to help record the shutout.

W&M outshot the Rams, 10-7, which included a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal. Eight different Tribe players recorded at least one shot.
