WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Field hockey senior Sally Snead was named the William & Mary Student-Athlete of the Week presented by the Virginia Lottery on Tuesday.

Snead was voted as this week's award winner by the Tribe fanbase via social media polls on both the @TribeAthletics Twitter and Instagram accounts. Men's soccer's Diba Nwegbo and women's soccer's Zoe Doughty were also honored as finalists for the weekly award.

Snead helped lead the Tribe to a pair of thrilling overtime wins over in-state rivals in No. 19 Old Dominion and VCU last week. The senior midfielder scored a goal in each of W&M's wins on the way to earning Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week honors.

In the season opener against the No. 19-ranked Monarchs, Snead scored off a rebound with 49 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime. The Green and Gold eventually pulled out the 3-2 win in the second extra period. On Sunday, Snead's drive to the far post just 1:26 into overtime lifted W&M to a 1-0 win over the Rams.

A kinesiology and health sciences major, Snead is a three-time NFHCA All-Academic Team selection. She is also a three-year CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll honoree and each of the last two years has been a W&M Provost Award winner thanks to a GPA above 3.5.
