NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The William & Mary men's track & field team completed a successful day one at the New Captains Classic & Combined Events on Friday night.
After winning two out of the five events scored in the decathlon and setting two personal best, freshman
Cole Harris currently stands in first place with 2,886 points.
How It Happened:
Kicking it off in the 100-meter dash Harris finished second at 12.21. In the long jump, Harris placed second with a jump of 5.69 meters. The Boston, Ma., native finished second in the shot put with a personal best at 10.61 meters and won in the high jump at 1.77 meters. Rounding it out for the evening in the 400-meter dash Harris won the event with a personal best at 54.20.
The New Captains Classic & Combined Events continue Saturday, with events beginning at 11:00 a.m.
