RICHMOND, Va. - For the second time this season, William & Mary senior
Mila Saric and freshman
Hedda Gurholt were named the Colonial Athletic Association Doubles Team of the Week, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Â
The Tribe tandem also took home the doubles weekly award on Feb. 16. It marked the sixth time in Saric's career that she has earned the doubles distinction. In total, W&M has won four CAA weekly awards as both Saric (March 9) and Gurholt (Feb. 9) have garnered CAA Player of the Week honors as well.
Â
Saric and Gurholt went a perfect 3-0 during the team's Spring Break trip, including a 2-0 CAA mark, and helped W&M to the doubles point in all three contests. The pair opened the trip with a 6-3 win over ECU's Ines Bachir and Alisha Hussain. They followed with CAA victories over UNCW's Sasha Belaya and Lauren Gish and Charleston's Halli Trinkle and Slade Coetzee by matching 6-2 scores. The Tribe pair is 7-4 at the top spot on the year.
Â
The Tribe hits the road this weekend to take on No. 57 VCU on Sunday, March 27, at noon.
