LYNCHBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's track and field totaled six IC4A qualifying times at the eighth annual Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational.
Senior
Spencer Tsai and junior
Stephen Larson led the way with a pair of IC4A qualifying standards over the two-day event.
60m Dash
Sophomore
Jackson Cooley ran a career-best matching 7.09 in the prelims of the 60-meter dash to qualify for the semifinals. Cooley remains the second-fastest athlete in the event in W&M history.
800m Run
Larson posted an IC4A qualifying time of 1:53.85 in the 800-meter run.
1000m Run
Larson and freshman
Owen Lipps both earn top-10 finishes in the 1000-meter run. Larson was seventh in an IC4A qualifying time of 2:28.28, while Lipps followed in 10th.
Mile Run
A trio of Tribe runners earned IC4A qualifying standards in the mile run. Junior
Jacob Jones placed 24th among the 72-competitor field in a time of 4:10.07. Both junior
Andrew Lagattuta, who was 29th, ran a qualifying time of 4:12.45, while freshman
Luke Ellwood also earned the standard at 4:14.0.
5000m Run
Tsai earned his second IC4A qualifying standard in the 5000m run. He placed 16th in the 45-runner field in a time of 14:40.88.
4x400m Relay
Cooley, junior
Jack Bunting, Larson and junior
Alex Loukili combined to finish fifth in the 4x400m relay in a time of 3:23.69.
Field Events
Pole Vault
JP Mintz placed 15th in the pole vole, finishing with a height of 4.6m.
Triple Jump
Jalen Jones garnered a top 10 in the triple jump, finishing seventh with a leap of 13.79m.
