Hey Tribe Fans!!

33887I hope everyone's summer is off to a fun and safe start! My summer has been pretty relaxing so far! After finishing up exams, I traveled back home to North Carolina where I got to hang out with my family and catch up with friends from home. I started off my summer by getting to see my brother graduate from college! I'm so proud of him and I can't wait to see what the future holds as he enters a career in law enforcement. Aside from taking a trip to North Myrtle beach with my family, I have primarily been spending most of my time working out and getting back into training after being out all season from surgery. It has been so nice to be able to do gymnastics again and I am beyond excited to have the summer to build up my strength and focus on getting my skills back! I also just took a quick trip to Williamsburg and moved in to my new apartment with Hailey Haycox this past weekend. It's always fun getting to catch up and hangout with teammates over the summer. The rest of Tribe Gym has been so busy traveling around the world! It is so cool to be able to see pictures and videos of teammates abroad and having the time of their lives!

I'm excited to see what's in store for the rest of summer, and even more excited to be reunited with everyone in August when we welcome our new freshmen!! Until then, stay updated by following our Instagram and Facebook to keep up with what's happening!

Much love & Go Tribe!

Hello Tribe gym fans!

I hope everyone is having a great summer. I know I am!

The team has been all over the place this summer. From South Africa and India to New York City! We have all been working on getting healthy for the upcoming year and maintaining and upgrading our skills. Some of the team are in the midst of their summer internships and jobs and love getting the experience. It's great to get insight into future careers and better our work skills for the future. Some of the team are starting summer classes soon and some are having a great time chilling with family and friends. Regardless of where we are, everyone is working hard and is excited for the future.

I am excited to see everyone in August, and I know we are going to have a great year!

Love,
Chloe

Hey Tribe Fans!

33856This summer has gotten off to a busy start for me. I travelled home to Wisconsin after finals and got to spend some quality time with my two brothers who I don't get to see too often. My older brother just got a new job, and my younger brother is spending his summer training for the next hockey season -- I am so proud to be their sister! My family and I participated in my favorite tradition over Memorial Day where we visit the burial sights of my father's friends who lost their lives during their Iraq deployment. With my dad being a Marine, Memorial Day means more to us than just a random holiday -- and this tradition allows us to pay respects to those that gave it all for us.

In addition, I flew to NYC to spend time with Erika before she started her internship. We walked the whole city -- my feet are still sore -- but it was so much fun! We also spent time in the Immigration Museum, and even caught up with 2017 team alumna, Olivia O'Connor! It is always good to see Liv and hear all the fun she is having in the city with her roommates and job! As for the rest of the summer, I am working at a summer school as a teacher aid, and providing private gymnastics lessons to two young girls on the spectrum -- which I love! In addition, I am running the Tribe Gymnastics instagram! I have enjoyed posting pics of all the girls during their summer travels, and videos of everyone training. Make sure to keep up with instagram takeovers and incoming freshman introductions during the summer months. If you don't already, go follow us! (@wmtribewgym)

I cannot believe that the start of my senior year is around the corner, but I'm not leaving William & Mary that easily. I was recently accepted into The School of Ed Special Education masters program! I could not be more excited to continue my passion of working with young students and learn how to assist those who need it most! I hope everyone has a fun and safe summer!

Xoxo -- Go Tribe!

Hey Tribe Fans!

33844I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! I can't believe it is already June! This summer is already flying by, but I am so excited for what's to come. Tribe Gym has been super busy already this summer either training or traveling around the world! Hailey and Katie are currently in South Africa doing an internship, and were able to go rock climbing the other day, and although it was very intensive they said it was worth the view! Caroline recently took a trip to New York to visit Erika, before they start internships this summer. It is always fun meeting up with other teammates in the summer, because boy do we miss each other!! Taylor is still studying in India, and Mary Graceyn just recently took a trip to the beach with her family!

As for me, I have been studying abroad in Florence for the last week and a half. It has been an amazing experience! Getting to learn about things in the classroom, but then seeing them in person is truly incredible. I am abroad with many other William & Mary students and it is so fun to get to know new people. My host family is the cutest and makes the best food! I am taking two classes here – an Italian language class and a culture class. We are here for a little over a month, and this last weekend we visited lots of cities! Luca, Siena, Pisa, and San Gimignano were all so unique. This week we have our midterms, and then we are off to Venice for the weekend! I am so excited!!

Although we are all crazy busy, we are still working hard upgrading our skills and preparing for next year! I know that August is going to come so soon, and I am so excited to welcome our new freshmen!! Stay tuned this summer on our Instagram to see updates on our adventures and upgrades!

Much love,
Lauren

Hi Tribe Gym Fans!!

Taylor here! I hope the summer is treating all of you well! Big changes are in store for the team next year so your favorite Tribe gymnasts are gearing up to prepare for what is to come. Most are working upgrades on each event as well as perfect skills for the upcoming fall when we welcome our wonderful freshmen that we are SO excited to have.

blogAs for me, my summer has been a great one so far. I got to watch my best friends (class of 2019) graduate as well as celebrate their amazing accomplishments before I hopped on a 14-hour plane ride heading to India. I am studying abroad this summer and I cannot speak to how wonderful the experience has already been thus far. I was in Bangalore for the past 10 days at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) where we were exposed to topics such as women, LGBTQIA+, rural versus urban, as well as inequalities and marginalization in India. These paneled sessions filled with excursions and guest lectures not only allowed for deep insight into each topic, but also allowed us to get close with the master program students, helped us feel like we were home even though we were halfway across the world. We even learned how to cross a street here in busy India, which is a HUGE feat in itself!

Two of my most favorite memories have been getting to meet the wonderful women behind the Aravani Art Project, a collective of transgender women who use art as an outlet to express issues in their community, as well as meeting bonded labor workers who graciously told us their stories as well as sang to us a song that though we couldn't understand the language, you could feel all the emotion behind it. These are just two examples of some of the activities I got to do while I was in Bangalore. It was truly a humbling experience and something I will never forget.

33835As soon as we got there (and got adjusted to the 9 and ½ hour time difference), the group of 10 of us hopped on another plane to Goa. Here, I will complete two courses: one about the architecture and the other on meditation, religion, and festivals. I am so excited to fully immerse myself in this experience and bring back lessons I have learned with me to the states.

My time has been nothing short of amazing, but it is flying by so fast. Though I am having a wonderful time, I am eager to get back into the gym constantly and work to make my senior season (crazy right?!) the best it can possible be! I have a wonderful feeling that this year, though full of so many amazing new things, is going to be the best one yet! I hope you are just as excited as I am! As always, thank you so much for tuning in and hope to see you all really soon! Go Tribe!

Hello Tribe Fam!

33793This week has been filled with excitement: everyone is returning home, Katie Waldman has a friend visiting from the Penn gymnastics team, and if you haven't heard… our seniors are officially graduated … WOOOOO! Congrats to the amazing seniors who have accomplished so much throughout their time here. A quick thank you to each and every one of them as they all played an essential role on the team and to my experience at William & Mary. I am already waiting for the day they come back for homecoming as ALUMNAE!

Unfortunately, I did not stay for the beautiful ceremony, but I did unexpectedly find Samantha Sakti at the Richmond airport, only to realize we were on the same flight back to California! It definitely made the 8 hours traveling much more bearable. Now that I am back in LA, I'm filling my schedule with all those appointments that college kids neglect until they go home. Lastly, a quick shoutout to the mothers - HAPPY (belated) MOTHERS DAY! I hope everyone is having a great start to their summer!

Love,

Hey Tribe fans!

It is so hard to believe that graduation week is here! It truly feels like just yesterday I stepped onto campus as a freshman. As the team was studying hard last week for all of our final exams, I was lucky enough to finish my last test on Wednesday morning. I celebrated with lunch at The Cheese Shop with Mary and the rest of the senior class. It was great getting us all together with Mary one last time before we head off our separate ways.

Celebrations continued this weekend as the team took our annual weekend trip to Virginia Beach. We rented out a beautiful house right across the street from the beach and spent 3 days grilling, playing in the pool, eating Mexican food, and soaking up the sun! It is one my favorite traditions the team has, and this year definitely did not disappoint.

As we head into graduation week things continue to get busier! Some members of the team are already on their way home to get a head start on summer break, while others are finishing up their last exams or sticking around for graduation. It is bittersweet knowing this week is full of so many "lasts," but I am so thankful for my last 4 years at William & Mary. Tribe Gymnastics has provided me with a lifetime of memories and truly become my home away from home.

Thank you Tribe fans for your endless support the last 4 years. As always, Go Tribe!

Lots of love,
Katie

Hey Tribe fans!

33740It's hard for me to believe that spring finals are already here and that I'm writing my last gym blog! Friday was the last day of classes for the spring semester, and for me and my fellow seniors, it was our very last day of classes at William & Mary! We celebrated by ringing the bell in the Wren building, which is a tradition for all graduating seniors on their final day of class. It is now finals season at the college, and all the Tribe gymnasts are studying hard to finish the academic year strong. The freshmen, sophomores, and juniors have also been putting in work in the gym in the last weeks of the semester, maintaining old skills and having fun with some new ones! With graduation less than two weeks away, I have been enjoying every moment I have left at William & Mary with my friends and teammates. I will be sad to leave the place that has become my home over the past four years, but I am looking forward for what the future has in store for me and all my graduating classmates!

One Tribe always,
Regan

Hi Tribe Fans!

33721Hope everyone is having an amazing week! It is crazy to say, but we are finishing up our last week of classes! Next Monday marks the start of final exams and really the end of this year. Everyone always says to appreciate every moment of college because it goes by in a blink of an eye. They were right. It's still so surreal that I am finishing up my junior year and will be starting my senior year after this coming summer. It is all so exciting, but also really hard to be saying goodbye to my class of seniors. They are so special to me and have each played such important roles in my college experience thus far, so there is no question that next year will be a shock without them.

This past week we also had our Team Picnic! Taylor's grandparents were so generous to host us again at their beautiful house for an amazing afternoon filled with delicious food. We passed along our yearly awards and had a great time talking about all of the highs we each had throughout the year. It truly was a special year with this team. We are all so close, so parting ways this summer will be hard. Wishing the best of luck especially to our seniors, who are off to the real world! I know each and every one of you will do great things.

Finally, I also wanted to thank everyone again for all of your support on One Tribe One Day this past week! We are so fortunate to have a supportive Tribe that keeps our program running and feeling so loved. I hope all of you have an amazing and restful summer!

Best,
Erika Marr

Hey Tribe Gym Fans,

As the season has come to a close, our team has been enjoying these last couple weeks of school. Many of us have been in the gym maintaining our skills for next year. This week, I'm looking forward to our teams end of year picnic. It's a nice time for everyone to enjoy the weather while also awarding a few of the gymnasts that truly stood out this season. Other than that, I have been enjoying my last few moments on this beautiful campus with my teammates, friends, and family.

Much love,

Aaliyah

Hey Tribe Gym fans!

33582We are now officially done with season, and we are transitioning into post season. We have started with lift again, and we have open gym during the week. Everyone has been trying to rest their bodies but are also very eager for this next season! We have been working some new, amazing skills in the gym and can't wait for what's to come next year!

A couple of us from the team recently went to our school's Astral fashion show, which Evan Pakshong had a lot to do with! It was so amazing to watch and great to support our teammate Evan!

We have our team picnic soon and we are all looking forward to getting together and celebrating our year!

Much love and Go Tribe!

Hey Tribe Gym Fans!!

It's been one crazy week! Spring has finally sprung here in the 'burg and we are soaking up every sunny, warm minute! This past week was our week off following ECAC's, and we sure did take advantage of a little bit of extra free time! We relaxed, caught up on schoolwork—a few of us even went to the beach when it was nice out. We also held our annual Outback Dinner, a fundraiser where Outback Steakhouse comes and cooks meals for students and faculty who purchased tickets from us. We raised a lot of money for our program, and it was so nice to not have to cook or eat dining hall food.

Though the senior class, myself included, will definitely miss heading back into the gym on Monday, we are so excited to pass on the mantle to the rising seniors. It will certainly be a huge transition for us six women, and I often find myself reminiscing on all of the memories we've shared over the years. It's like a constant highlight reel in my head of Meet Sims, Green & Golds, Halloween dress up days (especially Mary's pumpkin cheesecake), ECAC dance parties, and so much Tribe Pride.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to compete for the best school, to learn and grow with so many accomplished and inspiring women, and to get to know all the dedicated fans. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for spending the past four years with me.

Signing off with a lot of love,

Sophie

33440This past weekend was our final home meet of the season against Penn and was also our senior meet! It was both an exciting and emotional night of gymnastics, honoring our six amazing seniors after their four years of being a part of this team was truly so special. In addition to the seniors' last meet in Kaplan, we honored our wonderful coach Mary Lewis, as this was her last home meet as head coach. I know we will all miss her so much.

Getting into the meet, the Tribe started off strong on vault. A highlight on vault and exciting moment for the whole team was senior Katie Webber nailing her vault in competition to lead the Tribe with a 9.750. As well as Katie Waldman having a first-place finish on bars with a 9.800, and Samantha Sakti winning floor with a beautiful routine scoring a 9.775! These routines, as well as many others who contributed, led to a win against Penn! It was so exciting to be able to come out on top on senior night and give our home crowd a hype finish to the meet.

Looking ahead to this weekend, the Tribe will travel to Cornell for ECACs! We are all super excited for this meet and will be working hard in the gym this week to focus on those stuck dismounts and extra toe points in preparation for this weekend. I cannot wait to represent the Tribe one last time as a team this season and leave it all out on the floor at ECACs!!

Much love & Go Tribe!

Hey Tribe Fans33358,

As many people traveled to a tropical island or went home for Spring Break, the Tribe stayed in Williamsburg. We were all eager to get back into the gym and focus on hitting clean sets. During the week, we had multiple pressure sets on each event to mimic the competition setting.

Outside of the gym, many of the girls used their free time to scrapbook. For those that don't know, it's a Tribe Gym tradition to make scrapbooks for the seniors. With Senior Meet quickly approaching, the juniors have been busy crafting away! I'm definitely excited to look through my beautiful scrapbook that Erika Marr has created.

On Saturday, we had a short practice in the morning before heading off to Philadelphia. The Tribe took on Temple University and Centenary College on Sunday afternoon. In our last away meet of the regular season, the Tribe placed second with a 191.525. Unfortunately, the meet got off to a rocky start on bars. However, juniors, Evan Pakshong and Erika Marr, ended the event with strong sets. They each scored a 9.725, tying for third. Aaliyah Kerr highlighted our floor rotation with a fun and energetic set that went 9.8. Over on the vault, Taylor White scored a career high 9.725 on a beautiful front pike vault. Another standout of the day was junior, Caroline Caponi, with a second-place finish in the all-around.

Before our trip back to Williamsburg, we were warmly welcomed into the home of Tribe gym alum, Erin, and her husband, Pat Fitzgerald ('03) for a post-meet dinner. Andrea Elson ('07) and Matt Elson ('06), alum of the women's and men's gymnastics team respectively, also came to dinner. We had the pleasure of enjoying a nice home cooked meal and having the chance to talk with some of our alumni. We are so thankful for your kindness and generosity. What an awesome way to end our road trip!

We have a short week ahead of us with Senior Meet this Friday. We will be competing against the University of Pennsylvania! It is quite surreal being a senior myself and having to acknowledge that this season will shortly be coming to end. I am so grateful for all of my time here at William & Mary as a student-athlete, and I'm very excited to enjoy these last two meets with my Tribe family. We will also be celebrating head coach, Mary Lewis. This meet marks her last home competition at W&M, and we would love to cap it off on a high note.

SO….Come out and support the Tribe Women's Gymnastics team this Friday at 7:00 pm!!! If you can't make it to the meet, then tune into our Facebook live stream found on our page.

GO TRIBE  xoxo

With love,
Maddy

Hey Tribe fans!

33204We are about half way through our season and having so much fun at each meet! This past weekend we competed at NC State in a tri-meet against the Wolfpack and Western Michigan. Our floor lineup highlighted the meet with fun and strong routines. We love competing in NC State's arena because it is so fun with to play with the crowd and dance along with our teammates. Our freshman, Samantha Sakti crushed her routine yet again, and stuck her beautiful full in! We love watching her grow into such a strong competitor on the floor! In addition, junior Evan Pakshong dominated the beam rotation and took home the title with the highest score out of the whole meet! This weekend we also celebrated my birthday and sophomore Hailey Haycox's birthday with a team dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants!

This coming week is a busy one for us as we are in the midst of midterm season and still working hard in the gym. This Tuesday we will honor our Provost scholars for having a 3.5+ GPA with an awards ceremony with all other Tribe sports! We are so proud of the hard work we put into school, and it feels incredible to get recognized for it!

This coming Saturday is our Strength Beyond Muscles Meet at home! We are not only excited to be back in Kaplan, but to support mental health and self care. Special shoutout to junior Evan Pakshong, and senior, Sophie Harris, for coordinating this awareness meet and inspiring us every day inside and outside of the gym. We all look up to the both of you! In addition, we will be volunteering at the Self Care Fair this Thursday in support of NEDA. It feels so good to support mental health on our campus and we hope you can come hang out with us and write positive affirmations for others at our station!

Much love, Tribe!

33161I can't believe we are already so far into season! This past weekend we had two meets in Pennsylvania - West Chester and UPenn. We left on Thursday night, and after grabbing some dinner we did some team bonding on the bus - a little speed dating. We had five minutes to talk to everyone, and ask them three questions we didn't know about them. It was so fun getting to spend time together and just bonding even deeper with our teammates. Our weekend was full of gymnastics, some homework, ice baths, dancing around the hotel, and even some swimming! It was a blast!! This was my first time traveling to an overnight meet, and I can say it was one of the best weekends ever. Getting to bond with coaches, our lovely trainer, Thea, and teammates over walks from the hotel to Starbucks, meals, and different things on the TV were some of my favorite parts (besides the gymnastics of course!)

We had some really good things come out of our meets! Samantha Sakti got a 9.9 on floor, Erika Marr got a 9.8 on vault, and Caroline Caponi got a personal best all-around of 38.9. All around the meets were so hype, and everyone was truly invested in what they were doing. We were "all in this together" as high school musical likes to put it!

I am super excited to keep season rolling and for the rest of what's to come. We head to NC State on Friday, so tune in on Facebook live!

Much Love,

Hi Tribe Gym Fans!!

caponiSeason is flying by in a blink of an eye. I cannot believe it's already February! This past weekend, your favorite Tribe gymnasts competed at a quad meet in DC against George Washington, University of New Hampshire, and Yale. Standouts from the meet include Caroline Caponi (pictured), who placed second in the all-around with a season-high of 38.600 as well as junior Erika Marr who tied for third place on vault with her season-best of 9.750. Senior Regan Sindelar and sophomore Hailey Haycox were named the unsung heroes of the week for their incredibly hard work in the gym. Their dedication and resilience don't go unnoticed and we are so proud of them!

This week, we have been honing in on the details such as hitting handstands, pointing toes, as well as not just making sets, but hitting sets. We have really been emphasizing quality over quantity and hitting that FIRST set because that is what really matters in a meet situation. Everyone in the gym is looking great this week and we cannot wait to get on the road for our double meet weekend against West Chester with Rhode Island College on Friday and University of Pennsylvania on Sunday. We are excited to show how hard we are working inside the gym and hope you can tune in to see the live streams on Facebook this weekend.

As for me, this week is going to be a fun one. Not only do we travel to TWO meets, but my little sister and cat both have birthdays this week. Dylan turns sixteen on the 13th, so we are going out to dinner to celebrate her and her recent ability to drive with her learners permit (I'm terrified)! Morty, my amazing cat, who I adopted this summer, turns one on Sunday. I cannot believe how fast he has grown up! I hope everyone is having a lovely week and has an amazing Valentine's day filled with love and friendship. I am lucky enough to have the same Valentine, David Watkins, for the third year in a row! I am blessed that I get to spend my Valentine's day doing what I love with the people I love the most! Stay tuned for more Tribe Gym action and as always…. Go Tribe!

With Love,

Hi Tribe Family!

I can't believe we are already into February. This season has been off to a great start! Even though we did not have a meet this past weekend, we kept busy with a beam pressure set on Thursday and a vault pressure set Friday. They both went really well, and we ended the week with Aaliyah Kerr being named this week's unsung hero.  While we enjoyed a nice week off, we are excited to get back to another busy meet week. This upcoming Friday we will be competing at George Washington with UNH and Yale. It will be really fun competing with another team in the ECAC before our conference championship on March 23.

Just a friendly reminder, don't forget to order your Tribe Gymnastics apparel! The t-shits, long sleeve shirt, and black quarter zip are only on sale until Feb. 15. Don't miss your opportunity to support Tribe Gym!

I can't wait to see what we accomplish this season, and I know the time will go quickly. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and got to watch the Super Bowl.

With love,

Anna

Hey Tribe gym fans!

As you know we have had a very good start to the season! We have been so excited to get back in the gym and keep building on what we have already accomplished. This weekend is our off weekend but we still have been training hard. On Thursday, we had a beam pressure set that went very well. Also on Friday, we will be having bars and vault pressure sets.

We are excited to announce that The Team Store is now live. We would love to see everyone rep the new Tribe Gymnastics gear (especially at one of our meets)! There are two t-shirts, a long sleeve shirt and a black quarter zip collar sweater. But get them while you can because it ends on February 15th!

I am so excited for what the rest of season has to hold for our team and I cannot wait to get back out on the floor with the team when we compete against George Washington University on February 8th!

So much love for the Tribe,

Hey Tribe Fans!

32970It was another busy week of gymnastics for the team! The week started off strong as freshman Samantha Sakti was honored as ECAC Rookie of the Week after her strong performance on floor at Towson. We spent the rest of the week preparing for our double dual with the men's team which took place this past Saturday in Kaplan Arena. It was bittersweet being my last home opener, but I am so proud of how the day turned out, and it was definitely a ton of fun with both teams competing at once! Plus, we got to debut some beautiful, sparkly new leotards (modeled here by Taylor)!

The first half of the meet started off a little slow with some mistakes on vault and bars, but a beautiful routine and stuck dismount from Caroline Caponi earned her the bars title! In addition, Samantha performed a strong vault to earn the highest score on the team. We really picked up the pace going into beam which is a huge improvement from our first meet. Great sets from Evan Pakshong and Taylor White helped us top last week's beam score by over a point! We kept the energy up heading to floor for the last rotation where Lizzy Snoddy started us off with a stuck front double twist for the second highest score on the team. Caroline and Samantha ended the event with matching scores to tie for first place in the meet! In the end we were edged out slightly by Towson, but there were definitely a lot of great things to take away from the afternoon.

After awards we were able to sign autographs and take pictures with all of our fans. We loved seeing Kaplan Arena so full and really appreciate all of the support! We will be back at home on March 2nd for our annual alumni meet. Until then, we are using an upcoming off weekend to rest our bodies and work on some details in our routines. I'm excited season is in full swing, and I know the next few months will fly by fast! As always, Go Tribe!

Lots of love,
Katie

Hey Tribe gym fans!

31926This week is super exciting because we are coming off of a fantastic first meet! We started off super strong on floor with some huge scores! Our senior, Aaliyah Kerr, hit an amazing routine followed by freshman Samantha Sakti who killed it with a record setting 9.925 in her debut! The next event was vault where Taylor White stood up a beautiful front handspring front pike, an upgrade she has been working on. On bars, we put up solid, clean routines highlighted by Evan Pakshong, Caroline Caponi and Taylor White. We ended on beam where we saw a couple of first meet jitters, but had strong routines from Caroline Caponi and Evan Pakshong.

With a strong meet last weekend, we are excited to be home this weekend for our double dual with Men's Gymnastics. Come out to Kaplan on Saturday where we will be competing against Towson for a second time and the men's team will competing against Navy.

Much love,
Katie Waldman

Hi Tribe fans!

31848I hope everyone had a happy holiday season! I loved spending time with my family and friends in Omaha, and now I'm excited to be back in the burg with my teammates getting ready for the 2019 season! I can hardly believe that my last semester at William Y Mary is about to begin, and I'm looking forward to making some more wonderful memories with this amazing team during my final season as a Tribe gymnast. Our first meet is less than two weeks away, and everyone has been putting in serious work in the gym in order to get their routines polished and competition ready! The team has completed several successful pressure sets already over the break, which have helped everyone get into a meet mindset and build confidence. I can't wait to see all this hard work pay off during the upcoming season! Winter break also gives us some great opportunities to bond even more as a team, with fun activities like cooking together, watching movies, and having spa nights (as seen in the photo to the right!)

I am so excited for season to begin, and I hope you all can come out to cheer on the Tribe at one of our upcoming meets! We always love and appreciate the support of our Tribe family!

Love,

I can't believe fall semester is over and the spring semester is here! We all did amazing and ended the semester on a positive note and a smile to our faces. We've been through some ups and downs, new challenges and changes, but we made it through as a team and even stronger as a result!

Recently, most of the team just came back to the Burg from a wonderful well rested winter break! For Evan and me, it's been nice getting in some sunshine in California. Hope everyone had a warm, enjoyable time with their families and friends.

I am currently staying with Taylor during break and Caileigh is with Katie Waldman and Lauren! We have been watching Criminal Minds and movie nights with the team while we are on break. New Years just passed and we are all here to train for the upcoming season with our 2019 goals in mind! I am super pumped and psyched for my first college meet with my Tribe family!

Love,
Sakti

Happy holidays Tribe Fans!

Last week Tribe Gym, with the rest of William Y Mary students, were intensely studying for their finals. Finally, we have all officially finished and I am so proud of all my teammates for getting through this semester with such high morals! As Erika mentioned, the semester flew by! Some of us finished finals early and were able to head home earlier. However, for those who were able to stay, helped celebrate Lizzy's birthday in the Burg-- Happy birthday Lizzy!  Now she is at home, soaking up the sun in Arizona and awaiting Caroline to come visit her next week. Last weekend Erika met up with Gabby and Bri in DC (I think we are all a little jealous, because we miss them!) I have been home in Los Angeles for a week and are loving the holiday spirit with our families. This is the first time I have seen my family all semester! But, it was worth the wait. Now we are all at our respective homes, drinking peppermint hot chocolate and wrapping gifts. During the time we aren't enthralled in the holidays, we are rushing to the gym working on our routines to prepare for season or grabbing some weights to stay strong (shoutout to Scott for a great conditioning list!). I think everyone is THRILLED for season and believe this could be an AMAZING year. We hope to see as many of you as possible at our first home meet in January!! Happy Holidays Tribe Fans, and stay warm!

Sincerely,
Evan Pakshong

Hi Tribe Fans!

31777What an exciting time of the year, we have so much to share! We are just coming off the weekend of Green & Gold, our annual team intrasquad! This year's performance was spectacular and very impressive, considering we are still over a month out of season. Although I unfortunately had to sit out of this meet, sick with Bronchitis, (check out the face mask in the picture) I was so excited to cheer on my team and see everyone's hard work pay off. Videos are posted on Facebook live if you'd like to go back and watch! GO GREEN!

Another announcement for this week is that our head coach, Mary Lewis, will be retiring at the end of this coming season after an incredible 25 years at William & Mary. I am personally so lucky to be a part of her last season and to have been coached by her for all of my college career thus far. We love you Mary!

This weekend the Tribe is studying hard, as this week as start finals. The next week and a half we will be finishing up our semesters with our last days in the gym before break and taking our final exams! It's crazy how fast this semester flew by, but I think I can speak for everyone in that we are all excited to spend some time with family this holiday season. We hope you all have an amazing holiday season, as well, and look forward to keeping you updated once season rolls around!

Much love,

Erika

Hey Tribe Fans!!

31742I can't believe it's finally here...it's Green and Gold Week. Our team has been working so hard in the gym and we can't wait to show off all of the skills we've been working on in the gym, right at home in the Kaplan Arena. Bring your friends, family, your friend's family, and anyone else you can think of because it's going to be a great day.

Last week, Samantha Sakti crowned Elizabeth Snoddy "Lizzy" as Stick Queen. In order to win this award, you have to have the most sticks for the week. Also, Sophie Harris was crowned Unsung Hero for being there for our team and being there to support us in every way. Congratulations to those two!

As Green and Gold approaches on Friday, we will continue to work extremely hard. I'm so ready for the season to start and I hope I can speak for everyone when I say that this is going to be a great season.

Much love,

Aaliyah

Hey Tribe Gym fans!!

This is our first week back in the Burg after Thanksgiving break and we have just jumped back into our normal swing of things! We have been training really hard getting ready for our Green and Gold intrasquad next Friday! We have been working on the little details and from watching all my other amazing teammates, we look so ready!

Everybody has been looking really good in the gym and we are so ready to open up our season with a great meet! It's been a busy week for most of us, for we only have one week of classes left this semester. It's a tough grind for the next three weeks but we are all so ready for our meet and ready to ace our exams!

Winter break is right around the corner and we'll be home again before we know it, so were just taking in all the little moments happening right now. Especially for our seniors, I know they are taking in every moment and are so excited for Green and Gold! We hope to see some of you guys there next Friday at 6:30 pm!

Go Green!

Much love,

Hailey

Hey Tribe Fans!

We have had a busy few weeks! Last Friday we had our second Meet Simulation to prepare for Green & Gold. We had some really great sets, and I am so excited to watch the girls progress even further in the next few weeks! Samantha was crowned Stick Queen of the Week and Caroline was given the Unsung Hero Award. We have already come so far this pre-season and we are so ready to show it off in 2019!

30634A few days later we got up early for a team brunch and some volunteering. We donated our time and effort to support the greater Williamsburg community. We helped with the Mayflower Marathon: a food drive to support families in need during the Holiday season. We always love giving back to our communities, and the ability to directly impact Williamsburg over Thanksgiving is such an incredible privilege. The Mayflower Marathon sure helped us head into Thanksgiving break with extra grateful hearts for the opportunities we have been given here at Tribe Gym and with our own families. I, for one, am so lucky to be able to call William & Mary my home, and to call my teammates my family.

As we head into the last two weeks of the semester, I am sure we all have some great memories to look back on, but also some hopes for the upcoming season--starting with Green & Gold! I cherish every moment with my Tribe, from the long practice days to competitions, volunteering, and everything in-between. Happy Thanksgiving and an upcoming Happy Holidays to you all! Go Tribe!!

Hey Tribe Gym fans!

These past few days in the gym have been a great set-up for our second meet simulation today! I can tell that everyone has been working so hard in the gym to push themselves to be the best they can be! We have really been focusing on not only just hitting our routines but working on the small things like sticks and presentation. Samantha Sakti has been showing off her huge vaults this week, and Lizzy Snoddy added a new pass in her floor routine which will debut at our meet sim! Last week Caroline Caponi defended her title of stick queen, so I am excited to see who our stick queen will be this week!

Outside of the gym everyone has been studying hard with finals just around the corner as this semester is coming to a close very soon. In the midst of everything going on, it will be nice to head home for a few days for Thanksgiving break next week! I know everyone is excited to spend quality time with their families and eat some good home cooking! The Tribe is headed several different directions this holiday season as Katie Webber is going home to Nashville and Maddy Dwyer, Anna Weiskopf and Evan Pakshong are all headed to New York.

I can't wait to see what great things we accomplish today at our second meet simulation, and make sure to check out our William Y Mary Gymnastics Facebook page for videos from today!

Much love,

Hi Tribe Gym Fans,

This past week everyone's been working really hard in the gym.  With our second meet sim coming up on Friday we have been really focusing on the details and presentations of our routines.  Our first meet sim went really well and the energy in the gym was amazing.  I can already tell that our second meet sim is going to be even better, and I'm super excited to get in the gym this week and give it my all!

Last Sunday we supported the NEDA foundation by walking in the NEDA walk organized by the men's gymnastics team.  NEDA is a non-profit organization devoted to preventing eating disorders, providing treatment referrals, and increasing the public's awareness.  We were proud to support this foundation and also enjoyed a relaxing morning while going on a walk through campus.

This past week has been a little bit calmer, but we're picking up the pace again as we prepare for midterms and exams before Thanksgiving break.  Were all excited to get time to relax and catch up with family and friends.  Since Thanksgiving is coming up I also want to mention how thankful I am to be a part of this team!  Everyone is so amazing and makes me feel like I'm part of a family.

We hope everyone has a great week!

Much Love,

Hey Tribe Fans!

On Friday, we had our first meet simulation in the gym. It was a spectacular showing from the Tribe. As a senior, this was one of the best, first meet simulations I have been a part of. The energy was consistently building as we attacked our routines on every event.

We kicked off the meet simulation on vault. Taylor White nailed a beautiful front front pike, and Lauren Winkler showed her exploding power with her huge yurchenko half. Next, we headed over to beam. Caroline Caponi led off beam with a captivating set, bringing out her personality. Mary Graceyn hit a great set, connecting a solid front tuck to back handspring for her series. On bars, we had some strong performances. Evan Pakshong hit a clean set, making sure to get after every handstand. Katie Waldman finished off her bar routine with a sky high arabian double. The Tribe finished off the day on floor. We had two girls open with "E" passes—Elizabeth Snoddy opened her floor set with a clean front double full, and Samantha Sakti opened with her huge full-in. Aaliyah Kerr shined on floor, having controlled landings for each pass. Overall, the Tribe had a very successful first meet simulation. I am so proud of each member of this team. This was a great test to see where we're at in pre-season, and I am super excited with our performance. One of the best takeaways from our performance was the eagerness from everyone to get back in the gym. We can all acknowledge that this was a great start, but we are all so hungry to perfect those little details with our routines. We know we have so much more that we can bring to the competitive stage.

30395We are so thankful for all of the friends and family who came and cheered us on at our first meet simulation. We enjoyed having an audience for our meet, and cannot be more grateful for your love and support. Our second meet simulation is November 16th. We would love to see you there!

Lastly, I would like to give a quick shoutout to Erika Marr and Katie Waldman. Erika Marr is our Unsung Hero of the Week. She is consistently coming into the gym with a positive attitude and keeps a level head in the gym, no matter what type of day she is having in the gym. Katie Waldman is our first Stick Queen of the week—I wonder who will challenge her next week in the gym.

That is all from me for now. Stay tuned for live updates in the gym on our Instagram Story and our Snapchat this week!

Much love,
Maddy xo

Good morning Tribe gym fans!

Two weekends ago, we had fall break. I went back home to North Carolina and had a great time! I spent a lot of time with my family and friends (and my dog, gonzo, too). My mom and I went shopping, got our nails done, and went out to dinner. I got to see my cousin, who I never get to see, and we got to catch up, which was so fun. A lot of the team stayed on campus and hung out, and a few people went home or took a trip.

Wednesday resumed the normal schedule of classes and practice. Fall break was very much so needed and well anticipated, but I'm happy to be back in Williamsburg with my teammates and get back into the groove. Last weekend was homecoming, which was a great time. It is so nice to meet alumni and chat with them about their experiences and how their lives are now. In the gym, everybody has been working hard and improving every day. Consistency is starting to build and routines are coming together nicely. At this point, it is less about skill acquisition and more about perfecting the skills we have in our routines.

I can't wait to see what the team does this season and how much we continue to improve.

Go Tribe!

Hey Tribe Fans!

Instead of practice today, all of the girls and I are taking some much-needed time to relax as we are on Fall Break! We were so excited to wrap up midterms and take advantage of our four-day weekend. I went home with a friend to Fredericksburg, VA where we hung out with her two adorable dogs, went to a pumpkin patch, and explored downtown! Junior, Lizzy Snoddy went to D.C. to visit Tribe Gym alumna Gaby Johanek along with our sophomore, Lauren Winkler. They said they had a great time catching up and exploring the monuments. We are looking forward to seeing Gaby and many other alumnae this weekend in Williamsburg for Homecoming!

Classes and practice will continue on Wednesday and everyone is ready to get into the gym and keep working hard on putting together full routines. We are anticipating our first intrasquad around Halloween and we cannot wait to show all the hard work that we have been putting in, and figure out where we need to improve. Be on the lookout for Instagram videos from practice and Facebook posts about unsung hero and freshman introductions!

We hope everyone has a great week!

Much love,

blogHey Tribe Gym Fans!

So much has happened since the last time we've updated! For starters, Tribe Women's Gymnastics hopes all is well after Hurricane Florence and send all of our thoughts down to the people affected by the horrific storm. As for the 'Burg, we were thankfully out of harm's way of the storm's impact. However, it did give us a fun little week off from school that we used to get closer as a team through fun activities such as spa nights and pool party days. We just finished our first full week of official practice and I know I might sound bias, but we are looking pretty stellar so far this year. People are starting to get back into the swing of things (literally!) and are really taking it seriously to get our assignments done in a positive and constructive way! We are extremely excited for what is to come this year and cannot WAIT to show you how hard we have been working at our first home meet exhibition, Green and Gold at 6:30 p.m. on December 7th! Samantha Sakti, a freshman this year, was last week's Unsung Hero of the Week for her constant dedication, drive, and overall amazing attitude in the gym! Not to mention her incredible gymnastics that she has been hitting left and right on ALL four events.

preventionAs for fun activities, we had a blast taking team photos at Lake Matoaka Amphitheater. But most recently, last weekend was Parent's Weekend here at the college and we had our annual tailgate with our parents. It was so amazing to get to see all of our lovely parents again and celebrate with them as we start off this year. A fun event to keep on your calendar for this week is that Tribe Women's Gymnastics are putting on the Suicide Prevention and Awareness Week this Wednesday, October 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McLeod Tyler Wellness Center and we really hope to see you there! This event is chalk full of fun activities like yoga, art therapy, reflection walks, as well as keynote speaks and light refreshments. All the proceeds for this event benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. We are really driven this year to try and raise over 2,000 dollars and hope that you might consider donating to this cause. Any amount no matter how small will put us that much closer to hopefully help make sure that suicide is no longer one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Click here or the image to the right to donate if you so feel inclined.

We hope you have a wonderful week and as always Go Tribe!

Hi Tribe Gym fans!

This week has been busy trying to get back into the swing of things after the hurricane. However, overall there have been many highlights. Our first day of official practice began Monday. It was so great having everyone back into the gym together and seeing everyone get excited to prepare for the upcoming season. In addition to official practice, we had our team pictures on Friday! We took them at Lake Matoka and we got extremely lucky with having nice weather.

On top of all the exciting events for gymnastics, we had two Tribe Gym birthdays this week!! First was senior, Katie Webber. She turned 22 on Friday. Our second Tribe Gym birthday was senior Sophie Harris. She turned the big 21 on Sunday. We also have an upcoming birthday on Tuesday for junior Stephanie Washburn. She will be turning 20!!

I can't wait to see what Tribe Gym accomplishes this year and what adventures this year holds!

Much love,

Anna

Hey Tribe Fans!

29979I think it would be an understatement to say it was a crazy week in Virginia! While Williamsburg ended up avoiding major damage from Hurricane Florence, campus shut down last week as a precautionary measure. The majority of the team decided to evacuate, so I want to give a quick shout out to all of the Tribe Gym parents and alumni that were kind enough to host us. Times like this really show what "One Tribe, One Family" is all about! I was lucky enough to spend the week in Fredericksburg with the Winkler family where we passed the time baking, swimming, hiking, doing face masks, and getting ahead on school work. On Friday night we headed into Washington, D.C. for a big dinner with most of the team and some alumni in the area! I am so thankful that our team stayed safe, and our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the storm.

While I loved getting the week to bond and hang out with my teammates, I am so excited to be back in the 'burg and the gym. As a result of the closure last week, today marks our first day of official practice for the 2019 season! There's nothing better than the energy and enthusiasm that comes with finally having the whole team together again. We already have goals in mind for the season, so now it's time to buckle down and make them happen. I can't wait to make my senior season the best yet! Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for training updates and our official team photos.

Stay safe and have a great week Tribe!

Lots of love,

Hey Tribe!

Everyone's back in the Burg getting into the swing of things!

We started boot camp a week ago, slowly getting our strength up! The team supported me through the tough conditioning workouts with encouraging and positive words, which helped tremendously. I'm so thankful for them. We also got a new lift coach who is amazing and definitely strengthening us in all areas for season.

On Sunday, we volunteered at the triathlon which was super fun! Taylor and I were cheering the runners and cyclists on and directing them on where to go. Official practice starts soon and I'm really excited to get together with everyone and train for the upcoming season! Go Tribe!!!

Much love,

Hey Tribe Gym fans!

Classes started last week and Tribe gym is ready to kill it this year! Everyone is getting adjusted to classes and getting back into the swing of things in the gym. It's been great to be able train with team again and to welcome the freshmen! They are going to be a great addition to the team and are already working hard in the gym!

We just had our first team meeting where we discussed our goals for the upcoming season. We are excited to start preseason and work hard to make this season even better than the last. We are really going to focus on building on last season and making every preseason practice count.

Since classes just started, we have had a lot of time to spend with the team and to bond with everyone. We are so excited to have Chloe Campbell, Caileigh Gullotta, and Samantha Sakti with us this year! They are going to add so much to our team inside and outside of the gym.

Much love,

Hey Tribe!

29805Wow! I can't believe that the summer flew by so quickly. Everyone was up to some amazing things and I am so happy that everyone is finally back in the Burg!

We recently welcomed our new freshmen at our annual frozen yogurt welcome at Sweet Frog. It was so nice to see the freshmen again since we had not seen them since their official visits. We also had a blast going to visit them on move in day and seeing them their dorms.

Evan Pakshong was an orientation aid for Yates Hall and had a blast helping freshmen learn the ropes to being at William Y Mary! Also Caroline Caponi just got back from being a counselor for Camp Kesem, which was mentoring kids whose parents have cancer.

I am so excited to have everyone together in the gym again! The gym just got a new coat of paint and new pit foam so it is looking amazing!

Classes start Wednesday and we are so excited to see what the year has to bring for the Tribe.

Much love,

Elizabeth

Hey Tribe fans!

blogAnother busy and fun summer is coming to a close, and I am counting down the days until we will all be back together in the burg! For most of the summer, I worked in a biology research lab at William & Mary, studying the expression patterns of genes involved in the wound healing process. It was a very exciting project, and I'm looking forward to presenting the results in September at the summer research showcase on campus. I also spent a lot of time working on my medical school application, and will be spending even more time on secondary applications during the fall semester!

After the summer session ended, I came back to Omaha to spend my last few weeks of break with friends and family! It has been fun to help my sister get ready for her first year at college while I get ready for my last (hard to believe I'll be a senior already!). Unfortunately, after dealing with an ankle injury for several months, I ended up getting surgery just a few days ago to fix the ligament damage. Although I'm bummed about needing surgery, I'm glad to finally be on the road to recovery, and I'm lucky to have supportive teammates and my family helping me out!

My fellow Tribe Gym members have had busy and exciting summers as well! Katie Waldman and Lauren took a road trip to the great state of Nebraska after stopping along the way in Chicago for a couple days. Katie Webber traveled to Savannah, Georgia last weekend for her sister's bachelorette party, which included a riverboat cruise and a ghost tour! On Saturday, Anna was a bridesmaid in her older sister's wedding (see the beautiful photo!). Overall, everyone is enjoying the end of summer and getting pumped for a new season to start! Can't wait to officially welcome the freshmen into the Tribe Gym family soon!

Love,

Hello tribe fans!

29420I hope everyone is having an amazing summer and traveling as much as Tribe Gymnastics this summer! Even though I am not traveling around the world I am exploring all of California. From San Diego and Palm Springs, to up north as far as San Francisco! It's great to take advantage of where I live and get to know all the cool places in my home state.

Erika already mentioned our incredible experience at FlipFest where we coached and worked out, keeping us busy all day... we were completely booked morning to night... and it was amazing! In addition, I got to sneak in a trip to visit some friends including Katie Webber in Nashville, which was an amazing treat.

In the gym achieved my goal for the summer to throw a Ray (with a spot). Now, it is almost time to get prepared for an  exciting 2018-2019 school year, and I'm getting more excited every day that passes by. I will be returning to Williamsburg a little early so I can set up my room and fulfill my duties as an orientation aid for Yates hall. GO TRIBE! I can't wait to see all my lovely friends soon!

Hey Tribe Fans!

blogHope everyone is having an amazing summer! My summer has been quite a crazy summer, but by far the most exciting and adventurous summer I've had yet. I spent the first five weeks in Cádiz, Spain studying Spanish! We were fortunate enough to travel on weekends to surrounding cities around Cádiz and explore the city itself! Almost immediately after this study abroad, my family and I travelled to Bali and Thailand! Both countries were absolutely breathtaking and I had an amazing time exploring a new continent with my family.

These past two weeks Evan Pakshong and I spent in Tennessee working at Flip Fest, a gymnastics summer camp. I could not have asked for a better two weeks coaching fabulous children and being able to get back in shape in great facilities.

I'm super excited to be back in Williamsburg I'm just a few short weeks and catch up with all of the team. I'm even more excited to start training in the gym again with everyone and prepare for an amazing and successful season!

Have an amazing rest of your summer!

All the best,

Tribe gymnastics fans! Hello!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Even though it is just flying by. So crazy that it's almost August already. Everybody has been having a pretty productive summer I would say. Many people have studied abroad, gone out of the country, had family vacations, taken summer classes, worked, and of course been in the gym.

My family spent some time in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We took a ferry to Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and even got to see different types of whales on a whale watching exhibition. Cape Cod was amazing, but I am so jealous of the places that members of the team have traveled this year! Some places the team has traveled include Italy, Bali, Prague, and Guatemala. In the gym, we have been working on skills maintenance and acquisition, upgrades, and getting healthy for the upcoming year. This has definitely been a summer of a lot of work, but a lot of reward and fun too!

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer and spends some time doing what makes them happy!

Hi Tribe Fans!!

I hope you all are having an amazing summer! My summer has been filled with doing so many cool things from coaching gymnastics camps, to going to theme parks, to taking weekend trips to DC. Summer is my favorite time of year because I get to work on new skills at my gym from home while getting to make new memories with friends and family.

Many of the Tribettes (flashback Friday) are returning back from studying abroad and enjoying some quality time with family. In addition to that, Erika Marr and Evan Pakshong will be spending some time coaching at summer gymnastics camps this month.

I'm so excited for the upcoming year. There's so much to look forward to, but what I am looking forward to the most is our entire tribe family being back in Williamsburg ready to share stories, experiences, and to bond like we were never apart.

Love ya lots and keep enjoying your summer!

Hey Tribe fans!

We've finally gone full-swing into the dog-days of summer! I'm here in Williamsburg for another few weeks, and boy, is it hot! Aside from heat waves, some of us have seen some water waves at the beach, and we've even been making some waves of our own in the gym!

All of us celebrated the 4th in typical American fashion—with cookouts, barbecues, and of course, fireworks! All of us here in the 'burg grilled burgers and went to CW to watch the fireworks. After the fourth, many of us got back to our normal schedule of school, research, MCAT studying (sorry Maddy—it will be over soon!), or the most fun of them all: bungee jumping (so jealous Katie Webber!!). Anna spent this weekend at a country music festival with some friends. We gymnasts know how to work but we also know when to relax and have fun!

Other than that, the girls and I have been busy staying in shape and learning some upgrades for the upcoming season. Taylor is busy working on a Tkachev, Lauren is getting skills back from her injury at an amazing pace, and Lizzy is finally back into full-on training after her study abroad in Italy! So, it's just business as usual for us gym girls.

I think that's all for now—I hope you had as fun and as safe of a 4th as we all did!

Go Tribe!

Hey Tribe Gym fans!!

29332I feel like this summer has been flying by but we still have so much left! I started my summer pretty much right after we got out of school, and went to Italy for a little over a week! It was breathtaking and I had an amazing time! As if that wasn't enough, two weeks after I got back from Italy, I went to Paris, France with my family and had the most amazing time!! My grandpa speaks fluent French so it was so much easier to get around with him by our side!

Two days ago, Mary Graceyn and I moved into our house together. It's pretty weird being really on our own now, but we are loving being back in the burg and are getting ready to start our summer class. Katie Waldman and Lauren Winkler, the rest of our now sophomore class, are also here in the burg with us taking classes! Most of our team is either back or beginning to come back from their amazing summer abroad trips and everybody has seemed to be having such a great time!  Everyone has been training hard in the gym and I can't wait to see what this season has in store for us!

Much love,

Hailey

Hey Tribe Fans!!

blogAfter finishing up finals I went on a vacation to Disney World with my family! We had so much fun and getting to spend time with my brother, who I hadn't seen in a while, was a blast. Once I got home from that trip, I headed to Hawaii with my friend and her family. It was the most beautiful and adventurous vacation I have ever been on! Since then I have been spending majority of my time with family and friends back in North Carolina, and training at my club gym.

Tribe Gym has been all over the world this summer! Caroline Caponi went to
Kutńa Hora for a day trip in the Czech Republic and Hailey Haycox visited the Eiffel Tower in Paris!! As for the rest of the Tribe, Anna Weiskopf went to a hot air balloon festival this past weekend, Madison Dwyer celebrated her sister's high school graduation, and Aaliyah Kerr spent a few days coaching at the Navy gymnastics camp. It has been a thrilling summer so far for Tribe Gym and I am so excited to move back to the Burg this weekend to start my summer class!

Can't wait for the many adventures the rest of the summer holds!!

As always, much love and GO TRIBE!

imageI hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far and making some time to be outdoors! My summer has been busy with studying for the MCAT, working on my medical school application, shadowing an orthopedic trauma surgeon, working as a waitress, and practicing at my club gym. Despite the craziness, I am really happy to be home and loving my time on Long Island. I always try to make some time to relax at the beach with family or friends.

The rest of Tribe Gym has been all over the map this summer for study abroad programs or vacation. I would like to quickly shoutout all of our lovely ladies who are still in the Burg. Taylor White, Katie Waldman, Regan Sindelar, Sophie Harris, and Lauren Winkler are all spending portions of their summer in Williamsburg, Va. These ladies are dedicating time to classes, research, shadowing, and working. Also, they are putting in extreme work in the gym. Lauren Winkler is killing it! She has recently been cleared from ankle surgery, and she has started training vault and beam again. She's already putting front aerials on the beam. We are so proud of you! Katie Waldman is attacking those bar endurance assignments and working double arabians on floor. Taylor White is nailing front pikes on vault, and Regan Sindelar is focusing on getting back into the swing of things after a cortisone shot. Lastly, Sophie is working full-time in the lab to finish up her genetics project, while also making sure she is dedicating a lot of time to knee rehab. Keep up the great work ladies!

This weekend a few girls will be reuniting in New Jersey. Fallon Way and Anna Weiskopf are heading to see Kellie Wanamaker to celebrate her graduation from William & Mary with her family. I am really looking forward to seeing my whole tribe in August!

Lastly, Tribe Women's Gymnastics would like to wish all the dads out there a Happy Father's Day! We are so thankful for everything you all do for us. We hope you enjoy the special day!

xoxo

Much love,
Mads
