WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – After helping lead the William & Mary women's gymnastics team to a pair of victories against Alaska,
Michelle Ngo was honored as the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Specialist of the Week.
The award marks the second consecutive week in which a Tribe standout has garnered the distinction, as
Hannah Burke was selected for the recognition last Wednesday.
Ngo's best performance came in Saturday's triumph versus the Seawolves, as she won the bars title with a career-high 9.775 and tied for third on floor with a season-best 9.800. Her efforts helped W&M post a 48.975 on floor, which equals the program's 10th-best score in the event, and a season-high 48.675 on bars. Additionally, W&M's team total of 194.675 ranks as the ninth-best score in school history.
The Sacramento, Calif., native also came up big in Thursday's victory against Alaska, as she won a share of the floor title with a 9.775.
Ngo, who was recently honored as a GEC Scholar-Athlete for the fourth time during her career, currently ranks second on the team on bars (9.610) and third on floor (9.720).
W&M will return to action when it vies for the GEC Championship hosted by Cornell on Saturday afternoon.
