Alessandra Liu (Cynwyd, Pa.) was voted to the VaSID Women's Golf All-State first team on Tuesday, becoming the first Tribe golfer to be so honored. The team was selected by vote of all collegiate Sports Information Directors in Virginia, and includes golfers from all divisions.
Liu, who was also a first-team All-CAA selection, broke the school-record for the best season average by nearly three-quarters of a stroke, averaging 75.0 strokes per round. She also ranks second all-time with 815 wins and an .878 winning percentage. She won the Tribe's own Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate at Kingsmill in March, and had six top-10 finishes on the year including at the CAA Championships. Liu also set the school record with six rounds of par or better on the season, while playing 30 total rounds, the most for any player since 1981-82.
