CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The William and Mary women's tennis team continued action at the Kitty Harrison Invitational on Saturday. The Green and Gold doubles team of junior Sydney Smith and freshman Jackie Lee advanced to the finals of the Navy Draw, before falling in a tight match. Smith also was victorious in singles action, winning in the consolation side of the Navy Draw.

After recording a victory in their first match as a duo on Friday, Smith and Lee used a tiebreaker win, 9-8 (3), over the combined team of Minnesota's Emilie Renault and Norfolk State's Andrea Macchiavello in the semifinals. The Tribe pair dropped a close 9-7 decision to the Minnesota duo of Pauline Gilbert and Tereza Birchacova in the finals of the Navy Draw.

In other doubles action, senior Anik Cepeda and freshman Leeza Nemchinov split a pair of matches on Saturday. The Tribe tandem picked up an 8-4 victory over Virginia Tech's Kelly Williford and Raluca Mita in the Blue Draw, finishing the fall season at 5-4 as a team. 

After winning a pair of matches on Friday, Cepeda fell in the semifinals of the White Singles Draw to No. 27 nationally ranked Marianne Jodoin of Duke, 6-2, 6-0. The Tribe senior will face North Carolina's Laura Slater in the third-place match at 9 a.m. on Sunday. In the Navy Draw, Smith tallied her sixth singles win of the year, rolling to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Alisha Burton.

The Kitty Harrison Invitational concludes on Sunday with singles at 9 a.m.
