WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary men's tennis freshman
Gur Trakhtenberg was named to the All-CAA Second Team, the league announced on Friday.
Trakhtenberg became the first Tribe rookie to earn a spot on one of the top two All-CAA singles teams since Christian Cargill in 2015. He was one of three freshmen to earn all-league honors in singles this season.
Trakhtenberg led the Tribe with a 17-12 singles record. He was 8-7 in dual-match play at the top two positions, including six wins at the No. 1 spot. Included in his victories were league wins over All-CAA First Teamer Mateo Bivol of Monmouth and All-CAA Third Teamer Alex De Sousa of Drexel.
In doubles, Trakhtenberg also topped the Tribe with a 17-8 record. His 68% winning % ranks 12th in program history for a W&M freshman. He was 14-4 in dual-match play at No. 1 and No. 2 alongside
Oliver Hague and
Sean Joseph.
