WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary alum and longtime athletics enthusiast Marc Elim was honored with the CAA Cares Award during the conference championships on April 17, recognizing his exceptional service, leadership and commitment to both William & Mary Athletics and the greater community.

The CAA Cares Award recognizes individuals who have made a meaningful impact within their community or on one of the conference's member institution campuses through leadership, service and dedication to others.

"It is a tremendous and well-deserved honor for Marc to receive the CAA Cares Award," William & Mary Director of Athletics Brian D. Mann said. "He excels in everything that the award honors — leadership, service and dedication to others. Tribe Athletics and our university are very fortunate to be beneficiaries of his loyalty, generosity and unwavering support. We salute you, Marc, and thank you for all that you do for the Green & Gold."

A proud member of W&M's Class of 1988 and a former Tribe football student-athlete, Elim has devoted nearly two decades of service to William & Mary Athletics through his leadership with the W&M Athletics Foundation. He served on the foundation's board for nearly 20 years, including as board chair from 2020-23, helping guide the organization through a significant period of growth before rolling off the board last year.

His support of the Tribe continues today as a passionate advocate for William & Mary student-athletes and athletics programs, consistently championing the success of the department both on and off the field.

"There is no one I can think of that is more deserving of the CAA Cares Award than Marc," Tribe men's tennis head coach Jeff Kader said. "His passion, support and enthusiasm for all William & Mary sports is felt not just by the student-athletes, but by everyone in his presence. He is the first to share his excitement for a big win and also the first to cheer you up after a defeat. He exemplifies what it means to be a fan while also displaying what it means to honor sportsmanship. Congratulations, Marc."

Beyond his impact on campus, Elim has built an extensive record of community service throughout the Commonwealth and beyond. He currently volunteers on boards or committees for the William & Mary Alumni Richmond Chapter, the Children's Museum of Richmond, where he has served for 20 years, NAMI Virginia, The To The Max Foundation supporting autism awareness, and Special Olympics, where he has volunteered nationally at state games across the country.

"I can't think of a better recipient for the Cares Award, as Marc's enthusiasm for the Tribe is unmatched," W&M women's tennis head coach Jessica Giuggioli said. "I'm extremely grateful for his contributions and support over the years."

Through his leadership, generosity and service, Elim continues to embody the values of William & Mary Athletics, making a lasting impact on student-athletes, alumni and the broader community.
