RICHMOND, Va. – Five William & Mary women's tennis student-athletes earned All-CAA honors, including a conference-best three first team selections, the league announced on Friday.
Seniors
Hedda Gurholt and
Alessandra Anghel earned All-CAA First Team distinction in singles, while Gurholt and classmate
Ine Stange were named to the first team in doubles. Junior
Sia Chaudry was selected to the All-CAA Third Team in singles, and Anghel and sophomore
Francesca Davis received third team honors in doubles.
Gurholt continued to etch her name in W&M lore, becoming the ninth player in school history with three first team honors in singles and just the seventh to earn all-league distinction all four years of her career. Gurholt joined a list that includes Tribe greats Elizaveta Nemchinov, Maria Belaya, Ragini Acharya, Katarina Zoricic, Megan Moulton-Levy, Megan Muth, Candice Fuchs, and Delphine Troch to earn three first team honors. She is the first to do it since 2015.
The two-time CAA Player of the Year made a strong case to be a three-time honoree as she knocked off the other five members of the All-CAA First Team in singles action this season. She was also one of only two players in the league to earn a first team nod in singles and doubles.
Stange garnered her third All-CAA award in doubles action and second first team recognition. She was also a first team pick in 2022. Anghel earned All-CAA honors for the second-straight season after receiving doubles third team distinction last season. The awards were the first All-CAA honors for both Davis and Chaudry.
Gurholt picked up 20 singles wins for the fourth time in her career and finished with 92 over her four seasons. She ranks 14th in program history in career singles wins and singles winning %. Gurholt was 14-6 at No.1 singles in 2025. She posted a 44-13 record in her career at No. 1 and owned a 33-4 singles record against CAA competition.
Anghel earned a spot on the first team after posting 22 singles wins on the year, including a 14-5 record at the No. 2 position. She was 6-2 vs. CAA opponents this season, including a win in the CAA Championship match over All-CAA Second Team selection Mariana Reding of Elon.
Gurholt and Stange held down the top doubles position on the way to earning All-CAA First Team honors. The pair won 10 matches at the top spot and was 5-2 against CAA foes, including a win over the fellow first team Charleston pair of Sia Cariov and Francesca Salvato.
Chaudry earned All-CAA Third Team honors after holding down the No. 3 spot in the Tribe lineup for most of the season. She tallied 12 wins on the year, including a 9-6 mark at No. 3. Included in her victories on line three was a win over fellow All-CAA Third Teamer Helen Sarikulaya of Elon.
Anghel and Davis were impressive in doubles action for the Tribe in earning All-CAA honors. The pair turned in an impressive 15-4 mark, including a 13-3 ledger at No. 2. They were 5-1 against CAA competition, including a win over the All-CAA Second Team Elon duo of Lisa Kranec and Helen Sarikulaya during the regular season.
