Track & Field Wins Six Events at Fred Hardy Invite

RICHMOND, VA. — The William & Mary track and field teams opened up the 2025 outdoor season at the Fred Hardy Invitational on Thursday and Friday. The Tribe had six event winners over the two days of action.

SPRINTS
In the women's 100m, Jacqueline Jones placed sixth with a time of 12.45.

DISTANCES
Arianna DeBoer led the way in the women's 5000m seeded section, finishing in 17:37.98 for the victory. In third was Kyra Holland (17:44.95) while Molly Weithman (17:52.81) had a fifth-place finish. Catherine Garrison (17:52.85) came in sixth to give the Tribe four top-six finishers.

Holland was victorious in the 800m, posting a personal-best time of 2:12.04.

DeBoer was the runner-up in the 1500m as she crossed the finish line in 4:30.12. W&M placed three in the top-10, as DeBoer was joined by Kelly Ann Sutterfield (4:31.36) and Weithman (4:37.22).

The men's 1500m had a pair of top-10 finishers in the form of Collin Walsh (3:54.47) and Brendan DiStefano (3:56.11).

Running in the women's 3000m steeplechase, Lucy Young placed third with a time of 11:09.48. Allison McDonald came in fifth as she clocked in at 11:21.68.

In the men's 5000m unseeded section, Eric Fagan paced the Tribe runners as he registered a time of 15:31.76 to finish third.

HURDLES
David Seekford posted the fastest time in the men's 400m hurdles as he finished in 55.83.

The Tribe women's team had a trio of top-seven finishers in the 400m hurdles, led by freshman Avery Glidden at 1:03.42. She was followed by Evelyn Brantley (1:04.89) and Clare Howard (1:04.91).


In the 100m hurdles, the men were paced by Brian Walsh's time of 15.35, good for fourth place. Gabriel Albers finished right behind him, clocking in at 16.07. Katriel Amoyaw led the W&M women as she placed in the top-10 with a time of 15.47.

JUMPS
Continuing a theme from the indoor season, William & Mary dominated the women's pole vault as they scored the top three finishes. Elizabeth Strobach won the event with a vault of 12'5.5" (3.80m). In second was Olesya Sitkowski who cleared the bar at 12'1.5" (3.70m), followed by third-place Kerrigan Kimener at 11'7.75" (3.55m).

Dana Abraham claimed the women's triple jump, leaping 37'3.25" (11.36m). Her running mate Amoyaw placed sixth with a mark of 35'5.75" (10.81m).

THROWS
Raiden Lafortune was the champion in the javelin throw, posting a throw of 199'1" (60.70m). Following him was Alex Ust, who heaved the javelin at a distance of 186'2" (56.74m).

In the lone action on Thursday, Talia Anderson placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 155'04" (47.35m).

UP NEXT
W&M will head south for the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. from March 27-28.
