HAMPTON, Va. — Behind four individual event winners that included three school-record performances, the William & Mary women's swimming team vaulted back into first place after day three of the CAA Swimming Championships at the Hampton Aquaplex.
Combined, the Tribe had eight podium finishers for the day.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- The Tribe saw a standout performance from freshman Claire Neilly, who swam a school-record time of 4:14.71 in the women's 400 IM to win the event. She broke her own school record of 4:15.28 set at the WVU Invitational in December.
- Ellie Scherer was also a champion in the 100 breaststroke, setting a school record with a mark of 1:00.19. She was followed by Lindsay Juhlin in second place at 1:00.91, also a personal best.
- Tess Lankford took home gold in the women's 200 freestyle with her time of 1:48.42.
- In the women's 200 freestyle relay, the team of Zoe Arakelian, Flynn Truskett, Sarah Dunham, Caroline Burgeson teamed up to set a program record with a time of 1:30.83 as they won the event.
- Juhlin was also runner-up in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 53.31.
- On the men's side, Aiden Bond came in third in the 200 freestyle with his time of 1:36.20.
- In the men's 200 freestyle relay, the Tribe finished third with a time of 1:19.08 behind Alex Valliere, Logan McDonald, Connor Vargas, and Bond.
