HAMPTON, VA. — The William & Mary women's swimming team holds the top spot after day one of the CAA Championships at the Hampton Aquaplex, while the men's team ranks fifth.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- The Tribe women were led by a record-breaking performance in the 200 medley relay as Julie Addison, Ellie Scherer, Lindsay Juhlin and Caroline Burgeson broke the school, conference, and meet record with a winning time of 1:38.48. It was the fourth time in the past five years that W&M won the event.
- The women's 800 freestyle relay team also put in a strong performance, with Tess Lankford, Meghan Benda, Erin Langenburg, and Flynn Truskett finishing in 7:18.60 for second place behind Delaware. The women were just .03 seconds shy of taking gold, though they did post a top-10 time in school history.
- In the men's 200 medley relay, the quartet of Bryce Rouzie, Brock Rempe, Logan McDonald, and Alex Valliere placed fifth with a time of 1:27.26, fourth-fastest in school history.
- The men's 800 freestyle relay posted a time of 6:28.71, composed of David Yune, Aiden Bond, Beck Hastings, and Ian Cullicott. They placed fifth and had the second-best time in program history.
